Tap at CCB, courtesy of sebletitje - merci mon ami! Nearly black, chestnut head. Aroma has oak, alcohol, vanilla, white pepper. Taste starts with bitter chocolate, progresses to burnt espresso, then the peppers become apparent. Nice brew. cgarvieuk (25744) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 22, 2012

That’ll be me 20K then @ ChrisO’s. Opaque dark brown beer, good dark tan head. Palate is soft and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Rich dark malts but quite light on it’s toes. Nice dark chocolate streak. Sweetish coconut. The bourbon is a little raw and spicy. Finishes light and semi dry with a touch of molasses.
Bottle at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours oily black with a creamy, brown head. Lots of sugary dark malts on the nose. Dense chocolate. Big sweet flavor, lots of dark fruits, mellow alcohol, slight tang, cherries, raisins. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with hefty cocoa, light roast, light earthy bitterness, chocolate cake. Incredibly rich, nicely nuanced. Bottle split at Madmitch76 20K tasting, big thanks to Mitch himself, 15/01/16.
Pitch black with a big ole dirty tan covering.
Nose is rich roast, spice, bourbon infuse - pretty subtle on this front, dark fruit rinds, light coconut shavings.
Taste comprises dark chocolate, spice, trace of peppermint, Bounty Bar, black pepper, light spice, dark fruit melt.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close.
Solid impy action but not top draw for me. harrisoni (19189) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2016

A: The pour is black as night with a substantial mocha colored head.
S: What should I expect from a bourbon barrel chili imperial stout--chilies, chocolate, and vanilla. And that’s exactly what I got. I really nice spiciness goes well with the vanilla and chocolate notes along with just a touch of bourbon.
T: The spiciness is a bit more pronounced than I would have expected and it really has staying power. The bourbon flavor is somewhat minimal, but the oak and vanilla from the barrel is nice. The chocolate and roasted flavors help to keep everything together.
M: A medium body on this one with a bit of a low, rolling carbonation and a lingering spice.
D: You certainly have to like the chili flavor to enjoy this beer. I found it to be nice in a small dose, but I don’t know how much of this I could drink at once.
