My 14,900th rating. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chili, and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, alcohol, chocolate, and chili, leading to a dry roasted finish. The alcohol leaves a burn in the mouth. joergen (28164) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 15, 2011

Bottled (last beer at chriso before leaving for airplane). Quite much oily pitch black colour, very thick stuff. Head is reddish brown and mediumsized. Aroma is liquorice, some alcohol, mild dark dry fruits, some slight roasted notes as well as very strong chocolate and mild spicyness. Flavour is chocolate, alcohol, some slight roasted notes, mild burning spicyness as well as some nuttyness and liquorice. A very pleasantly balanced brew. Top class brew! omhper (25153) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2011
Bottled, thanks baggio! Very black, small brown head. Heavy on cocoa and coconut. Sweet with clean mouthfeel and less full body than anticipated. Flavours of milk chocolate, vanilla and treacle. A slight chili tingle in the finish. The aggressive Marshal Zhukov istamed by the added spices, but the hard mouthfeel is still there. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 14, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 14, 2010 Hand bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours pitch black with a deep almost reddish brown head - I’ve never quite seen anything like it. The aroma is equally unique, a really enticing mixture of vanilla, hard roasted malts, and a whiff of chili - everything perfectly balanced. The body is solid, lots of hard roasted malts, some sweet cocoa comes out and the chili leaves a little bite on my lips. The finish is dark chocolate, the hard roasted malts leaving a little bitterness. Finally a truly unique Imperial Stout with the spicing being perfectly subtle and balanced. I really dig this. 141109 Travlr (24880) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 11, 2010
750 ml bottle from the brewery tap. Black, second darkest brown head I have ever seen. Aroma of grapes and chili peppers. Taste is thick, chewy chocolate and cocoa nibs, bacobits and ribs. Interesting and complex, lots of flavors going on. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2010
22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Opaque black beer with a dark chocolate coloured head. Chocolatey nose. Soft palate with a little carbonated froth. Dark semi sweet chocolate with a touch of vanilla. Some subtle chili heat at the end. A very deft beer. The draft version was a little less sweet and quite a bit more chili heat.
