4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is very similar to standard Jai Alai, slight pine hops. Flavor is vaguely resinous pine hops with an woody finish. Very subtle hickory notes, nice malty body.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft… Mostly clear dirty orange ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is incredibly wood-forward and unlike the nose on any wood-treated beer I’ve experienced. Of course, Jai Alai’s hop-driven bouquet is represented, but the hickory steals the show here – reminiscent of water-logged hickory chips prior to being thrown on white-hot charcoal to grill beef or poultry. Full-bodied with fizzy carbonation. The flavor is spicy and bitter with a sweet, woody component that adds to the overall flavor without detracting from the lupulin goodness. Finishes crisp with earthy, woody bitterness.
