COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This “big” brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

Can at Beer Authority, NYC. Lightly hazed medium copper under a one finger lingering white head leaving patchy lace. Nose is light caramel with pine, citrus, tropical fruit, a touch of grass and a hint of honey. Light sweet with a medium+ bitterness dominated by orange peel, grapefruit and pineapple. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. Excellent balance.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2017 En rigtig ipa af amerikansk forbillede. Fuld skræl på humlen, ikke citrus men noget andet i den. God øl.

Can. About 8 years old. Cloudy honey orange colour. Luscious white airy head. Aroma: honey & nectar, grapefruit, tropical notes. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Medium sweet taste. A bit sugary from age. Fairly bitter still well drinkable. Obviously well-made but its best shape has passed.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2017 On tap at Eastwood. Heady IPA obviously heavy on the hops but really nicely balanced - somewhat fruity along w the grass.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2017 Beautiful murky orange with stable head. A: subdued hoppy aroma, rice (?), lime, orange, faint vanilla tobacco. T: tea-like mouthfeel, velvet smooth. Red fruits, rooibos, lime, citrus, watermelon. Malts and bitterness return in finish. Enjoyed this one.

Barwa ciemnego złota. Piana ładna, obfita i trwała. Aromat nie jest przesadnie intensywny. Głównie chmielowy, owocowy z nutą sosnową w tle. W smaku początkowo słodycz, białe owoce, mango, cytrusy, słód i lekka nuta karmelu. Dalej robi się wytrawnie, spora grejpfrutowa goryczka. Na finiszu nieco zalega. Wysycenie średnie. Dosyć gładkie. Wytrawna bezkompromisowa IPA, nie mniej jednak delikatne roczarowanie

IPA con non moltissima schiuma. Note maltate dai malti caramello. E ovviamente tanto luppolo che punta su resina e frutta esotica matura.

Out of a can - £7.70 for 330ml! Great pour, perfect light but cloudy. Best colour i’ve seen in an IPA - almost amber / gold. Great smell pungent but citrusy. Great mouth. Smooth flavoursome, bitter as hell but balanced with citrus and hops everywhere. Bitter aftertaste - heavily dry hopped?. A great experience will definitely do again but expensive! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
