COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This big brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

Bottle from Hopscotch (thanks!) Good kinda Tangerine aroma, however disappointed with the color, seemed uneven but with a nice light white head. But really loved the taste, the hops blend great with the malt. Citrus is sweetened by the malt. Very smooth body and great mouth feel. A very good IPA cant wait to try more. Thanks Hopscotch!

Can brought back from Florida by my father in law. Clear orange pour, big off white head. Aroma is fruit, lots of citrus, citrus oil, and crackery malts. Nice mouth feel, and carb. Finish is medium bitter, loads of citrus juice, and specifically grapefruit. A really nice ipa.

Ar: Classic grapefruit hop aroma, with lots of pepper, floral, and lemon notes; hints of toasted malt, but bright hoppiness dominates. Ap: Deep amber and clear; thick, dense off-white head; amazing head stand, looks like merengue; leaves chunks of lacing along the glass sides as it slowly recedes. T: Sweet candied orange up front; juicy grapefruit and mandarin orange; firm bitterness, but very smooth; slight alcohol warmth, clean in flavor; bright, but not cloying, caramel and toasted malt notes throughout; candied orange notes mingle with black pepper and lemon for a long, hoppy finish. P: Medium body with medium-high carbonation and a wonderful creamy mouthfeel; finish is medium-dry. O: Stellar IPA; very traditional American hop flavors (grapefruit, floral, pepper) with a firm, fresh malt backbone that creates a lush, citrusy hop experience rather than becoming cloying or overwhelming.

Terrific IPA! The hops in this beer lend fruity flavors and aromas making this IPA so much more than just another bitter IPA. I wish this distributed in St. Louis, because I would drink it all the time.

Another well balanced IPA with a strong malt body backing up hops giving orange and pine. Do we really need another bedrooms this? Oh, go on then...

Can red lion Leytonstone. First had this at the brewery in tampa about 3 years ago so had to dive in. 8 quid a can. Obviously not worth that but a fantastic IPA. Fruity as fuck. Love it.

Puszka. Barwa żłto-pomarańczowa, delikatnie mętna. Piana biała, kremowa, utrzymuje się w postaci cienkiej warstwy do samego końca. Aromat intensywny. Dominacja mango. Bardzo świeża. W smaku jeszcze przyjemniej. Mango, mango, mango.

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit, hops and citrus.

Appearance:
Turbid amber/orange beer with a medium off-white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, orange and tropical fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops and citrus.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Great beer with only the aroma being slightly too light. It could have been much better however, because it misses a lot of distinction. The palate might be too round.
