COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This big brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

32oz growler thanks to Hopscotch. Pours a dark amber with thick off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma strong of citrus hops, pine, grass, and some overripe fruit. Flavor matches pretty well and has the combination to make me want a lot more. Went down all too easy and very enjoyable.

Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Dwudniowe totalnie mnie kupiło. Kremowe, cudownie świeże i rześkie, z wyrazistym smakiem przecieru z mango i genialnej jakości goryczką. Znakomite.

12 oz. canned 12/27/2016. Light fog on the orange-golden body and a sticky disc of foam above. Nose is juicy orange/grapefruit, evergreen resin, peach and a bit of dank herb. Tastes of sourish orange/tangerine, bread, resin, wood and lightly peppery grapefruit zest. An earthy dank herb presence pops in and out. Light-medium body is soft and dry. Drinkable balance and a mostly smooth medium carbonation.

Nice IPA, big and sweet with a manageable bitterness on the fade. Seems kinda mild for such a renowned hop monster, a lot more orange marmalade malts poking through the hop wall than I expected, but the balance between citric-pine hops and easygoing malt love works well.

Can. Pours unclear orange with average, slowly diminishing white head. Aroma is hoppy: tropical fruits - mango, citrus - orange, grapefruit, light notes of pine and resin. Light to medium sweet taste of sweet tropical fruits, oranges, followed by medium+ hoppy (pine, citrus - grapefruit) short bitterness. Medium body, soft to average carbonation. Crisp and highly drinkable, great IPA. Good balance, pleasant bitterness, juiciness. With more intense aroma it would be close to perfect.
