I waited in front of the bar for nearly an hour waiting for this beast to be released. First and only batch of 2011. Omg this smells amazing. Delicious. I’m a lucky lucky lucky man. Brettastic aroma, hints of the la roja. Smooth and tart. Freaking amazing, drowland (8880) - Georgia, USA - MAR 24, 2010
Had on tap at the Hunahpu release party 2010 as a part of RBWG 2010. The pour is a nice orange. The aroma is amazing Belgian sour and the flavor is somewhat subdued but still awesome.

Nicely funked, some hints of the underlying guavas in the beer, but mostly an absolutely fantastic tart mix of tropical fruits with absolutely off-the-charts drinkability. I wanted to drink the entire keg for myself, and instead I only got one glass. Life is cruel. jcartamdg (3515) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2012
On tap at Hunahpu day 2011. Pours gold with a thick white head. Aroma of jolly pumpkin, that funky yeast that is so akin to JP. Taste is fruity, sour, funky and amazing, its like guava grove married a jolly pumpkin beer, really nice jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Hazy caramel-orange with big, flotsam, fine-bubble, head, fine legs / Delicate, acidic nose of orchard fruit, oak, spice, brett / Light to medium body, acidic, lively carbonation, creamy, excellent balance, mostly dry, with dusty, lightly bitter finish / Stylish flavors of red apple, caramel, guava, oak, coriander, horse blanket / More great stuff from CC.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2012 Had a nice pour of this at the 2010 Hunahpu’s release and all I can say is wow. Other than Hunahpu’s, this was by far the highlight of the night for me, including all the barrel-aged stuff.
A: Pours a nice pale orange red with a nice white head and a decent amount of lacing.
S: Very, very nice. Loads of tartness as well as bits of funk alongside some nice sweet guava. A bit of residual sweetness.
T: Absolutely delicious. Definite Brett presence alongside some wood, guava, residual sweetness, and some dry, fleshy summer fruits.
M: Not necessarily balanced, but the sweetness from the guava, acidity, and earthiness all play off each other really well. Nice and dry without going too far in any one direction.
D: One of the most drinkable sour or Brett beers that I’ve had. As I said, absolutely one of the highlights of an evening of great beers, and one of the best sours I’ve had in a long time.

On draft at the Hunahpu release. I could drink this whole friggin cask by myself. Pours a bright hazy yellow with a energetic white head. Nose is guava, malt, yeast, slight brett, citrus, and some barely detectable sour notes. Flavor is the same with light citrus, guava, malt, and yeast with the usual suspects of brett from the JP. Light to medium body and refreshing as hell. Please make this beer again! MeadMe (1672) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - MAR 13, 2010
Lucky enough to have sampled this a couple times at CCB before it was put on draft and blown for good.
A: Pours an amberish hue with a nice tall white head. Very nice retention and a smattering of lace.
S: Wonderful bright tart aromas. Lots of apple, light sweet tarts, sour grapes with hints of earth.
T: Grapes come through in the flavor as well with light notes of tart cherries. The brett from JP comes through without being bold. Light citrus, and hints of tart green apple. Light earthy flavors as well.
M: Medium in body, zippy almost champagne like.
D: Very good. I love what the JP barrel did to this already solid beer. gkost (1069) - Alaska, USA - MAR 13, 2010
Pours orange. Nose is funky brett, mild sour, guava, sweet fruit, some grass. Flavor is a great balance of sweet fruit, funk and mild tart from the fruit and the bugs. Crazy drinkable, good full body with a decent amount of sour, funky brett and sweet fruit. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 15, 2010
Hazy orange pour, off white head. Aroma is really interesting. Lots of tropical fruit, light red wine vinegar, funk, yeast, leather. Flavor is tart and a bit funky but what the barrel did to this beer was transform the flavor. It didn’t bring much sourness, just a delicious flavor that leaves your mouth watering...begging for more. Rating 3333. My favorite number.
