Bottled 11/2/2015 enjoyed 1/13/2016 in a snifter. Look - Aggressive pour lead to a couple fingers of medium to large bubbled tan head. Body is dark brown. There is quite a bit of lacing. Head settles to more than a ring. Smell - Chocolate. Char. Toast. Coffee. Bubblegum. Hop. Taste - Bitter with coffee, chocolate, and hops. Toasty. Slight peppermint. Feel - Rips tongue in a couple ways. Not boozy. Well carbonated. Dry Overall - If I didn’t know better I’d think I was drinking a Three Floyds porter. Bitter chocolate. Bitter hops. Even not being in the mood for this, it is still good.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, caramel, roasted grain), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with notes of vanilla and tobacco. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Aggressively hopped? Hmmm, not really getting that. Simple nose...it’s not got much by way of hops in either the nose or mouth, in fact. It’s quite twangy/sour, too. Pretty difficult to enjoy.

Tap at Cigar City. Aroma is strong pine and flowers with light cocoa and coffee. Tastes moderately bitter. Roasted coffee and pine mostly. Somewhat thin body. Tastes like a thinner black IPA but still smooth and crushable. Solid.

ICEatALAMO (1353) - Troy, Michigan, USA - NOV 13, 2015
Bottle. The pour is a dark brown. The aroma is that of almonds and dark bitter fruits. The taste is true to the style, a nice drinking porter. This one seemed to be almost near turning with a little bit of sour coming through.

Bomber thanks to homer 321, thanks man! Black slighty thin pour with a thick layer of creamy white head. Aroma is nutty roasy, pine, and citrus, smells very much like a black IPA of sorts. Taste is coffee roast up front followed by some hoppy pine citrus bitterness, finsh is bitter coffee that lingers on the palate, medium bodied, lots of carbonation. Nice brew, very hoppy for a porter, but tasty all around.

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown color with a tan head. Aroma is a light toasted malts, touch of bitterness, piney hops. Flavor has a nice brown toasted malt character, touch of piney hops in background. Medium body with a lingering bitterness and toasted malts. Interesting brew. Tasty.
