On draft at Hunahpu Day. Pours a deep obsidian with an off-tan head. Nose is some roast, some bourbon, vanilla, some dark chocolate, and some oak. Flavor is similar- it’s interesting to see what the barrel did to this hoppy porter- roast, earth, some mild bitterness is still there, but there is also vanilla, oak, bourbon, and some of the chocolate character comes more to the fore. Light to medium in body and very nice overall. olr1984 (1500) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 20, 2014

Decent but mouthfeel was too thin and watery. Flavor was decent but not concentrated enough. Good but not great Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 13, 2014

I like regular Jose Marti, but the bourbon barrel is a little light in body and aroma. The flavor is actually really solid, but but I’d like more body. I dig it, just not as much as possible. jcartamdg (3515) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 19, 2013
Pours jet black with a thin mocha head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla and oak. Taste is bourbon and vanilla, chocolate and oak. Smooth and fairly balanced. Bourbon is there but not overpowering. Really nice. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2013
On draft at Funky Buddha lounge for 3rd anniversary party. The bourbon didn’t really do anything to help launch this beer into a new spectrum. It’s still good but nothing crazy. Palme (4812) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 7, 2013
On tap @ Tørst. This one pours a deep dark brown body with a small sidesticking kinda brown dense top. It smells really sweet and roasted. Lots of bourbon and chocolate here. Some raisins, cranberries and wood. Loaded with sweetness and definitely wood in the taste. Almost like drinking a barley wine in many ways. The bourbon has gone completely mad in this one. Wood dry with lots of dark black roasted flavors. Vanilla is really here also. Yeah, the bourbon has gone completely mad and taken over the little drops that used to be normal beer. A good alcohol burn in the finish here, refusing to let go of the tongue. Would have figured this was a way higher abv beer. If you like beer added a ton of bourbon, you’ll love this! 17.06.2013 Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - OCT 6, 2013

Taste is thick, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, smoked malts, roasted nuts, and some thick lactose. Full body, heavy mouth. Carbonation. Slightly bitter. Very nice.
