Bottle @ His Great Return Tasting. Cheers to Paulo for providing such a ’yet very expensive’ brew! The pour’s deep brown with a tiny tan head. Loads of roasty, ashy malt aromas. Burnt wood, cocoa powder. A bit of roasted coffee and burnt brown sugar. The taste is pretty robust, outsized. Big caramel and toffee. Vanilla sundae. Roasted grain, big earthy char. Full body, oily. Bottle... This beer rocks!… Dark brown – nearly black – pour with a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The bouquet furnishes a medley of fudge, brownies, raw white oak and bourbon. Full-bodied with laid-back carbonation. The flavor presents succulent toasted coconut and tangy bourbon. Finishes lightly acidic and quite warming. World class bottle of beer provided by ctipping! Black with a moderate tan covering that clears to the edge.
Nose is rich chocolate, subtle BA effect, Bounty bar, woody booze and light bourbonics, pinch of spice.
Taste comprises coconut shavings, rich chocolate, light booze, dark toffee fudge, light mineral pangs, spice.
Medium + bodiment, fine carbonation.

Jack is back tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Paul. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, smooth, fine carbonation. Smooth dark malt, quite a light touch. Mild dark chocolate. Mellow.bourbon. Whisper of vanilla wood. Smooth finish. Well behaved and mellow for a big ba beer.
Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours deep brown with a frothy tan head. Lovely aroma, lots of burnt marshmallows, milk chocolate, a bit of torched wood. Medium to big sweet flavor with rich chocolate, burnt toffee, more torched marshmallows, figs, raisins, mild earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Bottle shared at Bruce’s. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is fudge, treacle, oily, wood, bourbon, vanilla, fruit cake and toasted coconut. The taste is bitter-sweet, aniseed, toasty, wood, bourbon, earth, cocoa, light vanilla, spice, warming alcohol and dark fruit in the background. Dark brown -- nearly black -- pour yields scant manila lace. Good retention, though, and the lace swirls up top long after.
Heavy barrel character, super dry, pretty complex finish as it descends. Dark fruits, sweetness from the barrel, bone dry finish. Low carb. The 11% is completely hidden, even at room temp. Impressive.
