Bottle thanks to Sean, opened at a dinner party so notes are a little spotty. Pours hazy chestnut with a small tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves some lacing. Aroma is malty, cocoa, roasty, bourbon, coffee, tobacco. Flavor is about the same, medium sweet with some bitterness. Quite a bit of bourbon going on, including some woody astringence. Just a bit of anise, which is good. Medium body. Nice enough beer!

Bottle .. Deep brown .. Mild bourbon and toasted dirt .. Didn’t quite do it for me, a bit muddled .. . . If you’re calling the cops "dude" as they’re arresting you then it’s probably a safe bet that you have bigger problems than going to jail.

Thanks to DocJ007 for sharing this one with a whole bunch of us. Drank right after the non BA version.

A - Pours deep dark brown with a small half finger tall khaki colored head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving light strings of lace down parts of the glass.

S - Smells of dark roasted malt, dulled vanilla and chocolatey sweetness, light smokiness and only the faintest hint of bourbon. Right away I could tell this one wasn’t right, I even re-read the description to make sure I read it right the first time. It has a really wired fruitiness and very little bourbon notes.

T - Taste is just like the nose. It starts off with the dark roasted malt and light sweetness and then things take a turn for the worse. There is a weird mix of smoke and light fruitiness that clashes with all of the other flavors. On top of that the bourbon is almost non existent, which is really eye raising. Finish is rather harsh with a bit of booze burn, combined with the thin feel it doesn’t linger on the palate for very long.

M - Medium body with moderately low carbonation. The weird fruitiness combined with the thin, roasty feel is not helping things at all.

O - There was more than half the bottle left at the end of the night and nobody was rushing over to finish it. A bourbon barrel porter with no bourbon presence and a light fruitiness? I don’t want to say this bottle was infected but it definitely wasn’t right.

Black pour, tan head. Nose is huge bourbon and chocolate. Taste is bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, melded together exceptionally well. Medium mouthfeel.

Pours black, nice 1 finger head cocoa colored, looks amber on the edges of the glass. not a velvety pour but then again, this is a porter. The two biggest things about the nose are cocoa and bourbon (vanilla, charred oak, coconut)I get some Tootsie roll aspects as well. Taste is nice. Great mouthfeel, lots of chocolate a touch of oak and there’s this big bourbon taste middle to finish. Really a well balanced porter. just perfect

750 ml bottle Shared by Adam Jackson. Dark thick Olof with spotty off white head. The nose is a pleasant vanilla, oak and hints of chocolate roast. Aroma makes me want it as I enjoy sipping bourbon. The base flavor is true to the Baltic Porter style; chocolate, coffee, ash and a wisp of smoke. Hints of licorice. The bourbon barrel gives all the great nuances of vanilla oak and sweet caramel/ toffee like flavors. The body maybe thin if comparing to other big Baltic’s but not negative at all. Just a bit thinner then you may expect. Nice warmth from the ABV after the sip. I enjoyed an awful lot, very tasty!

Sampled @ RB Danish Summer Gathering 2013 day 2, Ulfborg. Bottle. Opaque pitch black color, small off - white head. Very nice aroma of roasted malts and bourbon barrel aging. Taste malts, dark malts, chocolate, bourbon, sweetness. Full body, medium to full carbonation. Conplex and heavy.
