Super-carbed. It isn’t a baltic porter in the least. I would peg it as a lithuanian brewery trying to do a quad in style.

On tap, sweet aroma and smell. Roasty, great body and pallate. A little caramel on subsequent sips.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Dark brown pour with a delightful tan head. Taste of roasted malts, coco, alcohol, and oak. Medium body, medium carbonation.

Pours black with moderate head that receded quickly. Very sweet and malty with toasted vanilla and oak notes. Needs some more complexity - too one dimensionally sweet.

On tap at Churchkey in Washington DC, served in a snifter. ours black with a moderate frothy tan head that remains and leaves lots of lace. The nose has fresh malts and grains, along with roasted coffee and earth. The flavour is moderately sweet with roasty malts and notes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. This is balanced with piney hops that grow towards a long, hoppy roasty finish. On the palate, it is medium in body with a milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, this is a very nice imperial porter. Not quite as complex as an imperial stout, but it is nonetheless appropriate to the style. 2012-06-09

Why is it that 1/3 of the Cigar City beers I have are infected? Sour bretty porter is weird and not in a good way. SIGGGHHH. Lost Abbey, Captain Lawrence, and Cigar City should get together and whatever they have in common stop doing that.

Opaque dark brown beer, residual tan head. Crispy palate, semi dry. Rich dark malts, a little coffee and molasses. Dry finish with a trace of dried fruits. Okay beer but it’s malty one dimensional.

Bottle @ Greg’s house via trade with markwise.mtganks Mark! Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a massive brown head that keeps on growing seemingly. Very roasty, lightly smoky malty, anise forward aroma. Aise, dark chocolate, charred malty, chocolate flavor with some light fruity notes. A bit boozy. Not my favorite.

Great pour, balanced notes of chocolate. Smooth and drinkable for the abv. A fantastic porter which provides great flavor with no bitterness
