COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BEER DESCRIPTION
Continental Drift is a collaboration between Florida’s Cigar City Brewing and California’s Knee Deep Brewing Co. For this collab, we wanted to turn the whole continent on its ear and brew a West Coast-style IPA in Florida and an East Coast-style IPA in California. This beer is unique in that it uses hops processed in four different ways: extract, pellets, whole leaf, and lupulin powder. These diverse hop formats create more hop complexity.

TASTING NOTES
Bright berry, tangerine and candied orange hop aroma is accentuated by a peachy ester quality on the nose. Bready malt flavor and moderate residual sweetness balance an assertive but tempered bitterness and stone fruit flavor.

Draft to pint at The Pint Room. Looks good; a completely transparent deeper golden orange with ample foamy eggshell head. Smells of fruity hops with a moderately bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly bitter medium-bodied mouthfeel. An WC-style IPA.

Draft at RnH-West. Clear caramel pour, lots of beige lace. Skunky hops, pine, some fruity hops. Drinks fairly bitter. Lively carbonation. Clean, dry close.

tap @ tap & bottle: beautiful, clear and golden appearance. Quite berry-centric nose which is lovely and fairly rare in IPAs, almost perfumy notes, not much of the typical citrus-bomb aromas. Taste is a good mix of sweet and bitter, not too much dextrines but right at the edge of perceptible. Finish is a let down with a bit of hop bitterness and an oily feeling but no distinct flavor for me...

Borefts VIII. Day 2. Keg. Thanks to Ruth for fetching from the Mill. Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, mildly sweet. Big skunky hops. Green hop, almost herby. Mellow orange and a trace of hop spice. Light bitterish finish. Pretty skunky!
