COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspberry Grove is an American Sour Guava Ale that experiences three fermentations. Primary fermentation is conducted with lactobacillus, a bacteria that sours the wort. The secondary fermentation takes place when we add a saison yeast that is French in origin. The tertiary fermentation is spurred by the addition of raspberries. The acidity of this elegant ale cuts fatty foods and oily fish from the palate beautifully. Pairs well with mussels cooked in gueuze, ceviche, terrines and rich, creamy cheese or cheesecake.

Bottle thanks to Homer! Pours clear ruby, small white pink head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is medium tart, fruity, raspberries. Medium body. I should have more to say, but was not paying much attention at this point.

Bottle at the Plan Bee Hive BBQ. Pours a hazed ruby with a thin white head. Raspberry jam, fruit, sweetness. Medium bodied, soft and tangy, raspberry jam, musk, acid, light fruit. Tangy, jammy.

Sampled from 22-oz bomber and shared by Steasy. Pours a powdery reddish amber colored brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of breakfast raspberry jam, some tart red fruits, multi-grain malt and lacto tartness that chides all hop presence. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of tart raspberries, toasted white cracker biscuits and a touch of earthy spice. Finish continues the mild tart raspberry profile that slowly disappears.

Bottle thanks to Steasy! Reddish pour with a small head. Really jammy nose. Plenty of bright raspberry. Somewhat earthy, tart character. Similar flavor. Sweet and mildly acetic raspberry purée. Light body, buoyant stuff.

22 oz bottle. Pours dark pinkish red color and topped by a small off white layer of foam that settles in slowly to a thin film and leaves some sticky lines of lace on the glass. The aroma is nice showing of notes of bright dark berries with tart raspberry most prominent, some jam, lactic acidity and sourness, some light toasted biscuit malts, and some earthy yeast. The flavor follows suit with the bright, tart and tangy raspberries up front with lighter notes of cranberries to go with the lactic acidity, light toasted biscuit malts, and some earthy and yogurt notes. Not overly sour at all, but a nice tartness through out. Medium bodied with balanced carbonation that leads to a tart and tangy raspberry finish. Nice complexity overall with a nice mouth feel and perfect balance between the fruit and tartness. Really well done and solid sour.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy ruby/pinkish orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tart/tangy raspberries, cranberry, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, melon, peach, white grape, pepper, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, hay, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of raspberries, fruity/acidic/spicy yeast, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/tangy raspberries, cranberry, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, melon, peach, white grape, pepper, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, hay, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberries, cranberry, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, melon, peach, white grape, pepper, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, hay, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/acidic/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from tart/spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, creamy/bready/grainy/acidic, and lightly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited sour saison! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/acidic/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the balanced lactic/spicy/creamy finish. Perfectly balanced between fruit, lacto, and saison yeast flavors. A tad on the malty side, but never overly sweet. A highly enjoyable offering.

Tasty fruity and funky sour. Really more of a funky fruit beer than a sour, but did have a nice mild sour and sweet balance.

Bomber via trade. Poured a murky deep purple with a foamy pink head. Aroma is loaded with tons of raspberry, sweet and sour, sour patch kids, lemons, funk. Flavor is way more sour lemon with only a finish of raspberry, cracker, funk. Great body, refreshing, medium body with soft carb and a sour lingering finish.
