Draft at the source. Almost black, beige edge head. Aroma of burnt chocilate and caramel. Taste is toasted cocoa. Decent. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Tap at CCB. Deep brown to ruby with no head. Nose is sharper coffee roast and dark cherries. Taste follows suit: heavy baked cherries followed by heavy coffee and roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel with good bitterness. Easy to drink. Heavy coffee presence. Successful.

Tap. Moderate malt aroma of toasted, light to moderate herbs and resin for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with charcoal, licorice, milk and a hint of vinegar in the background.. Head is small, frothy, light tan with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a soft to lively carbonation. A rich and bold Schwarzbier with a few tart notes. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 10, 2012
Draft. Black with good, creamy, tan head / Nose of toasted barley and tobacco / Medium, creamy body with modest acidity and long, dry, bitter finish / Very smooth flavors of dark roast coffee and tobacco, with a hint of dark caramel / Near perfect for this style. weihenweizen (4044) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Pours opaque black with beige head. Good lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and sweet roasted aroma. Taste is sweet roasted malt and a light bitter hop finish. I like this one.

On tap at Redlight Redlight, poured as a half liter with very little head. Very sweet aroma, almost lactose like. Smooth like a nitro stout, a nice residual sweetness that I’m really enjoying. Unlike any Lager I’ve ever had, very rich and delicious. Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 18, 2012
Draught. Dark brown and slightly reddish. Very toasty aroma, though this is served pretty cold. The palate is quite toasty with some complex darker malts. The body is full, and a little bit smoky. Finishes dry. Good schwarzbier. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Another huge mug pour at redlight... Pours a mostly darker stouty black pour with less intense deep reddish semi-tan edges and topped with an enticing creamy light beige head... Aroma of roasted grain and cocoa throughout. Solid with a touch of burnt ends... Flavors are solidly mire if the same with a solid roast and cocoa flavor profile. Easy goin body with mild to medium carbonation. Pretty darn drinkable.
