Pours a dark brown color with off-white head. Dark malts, cereal grains, and some bread and biscuit on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with roasted malt. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 10, 2015
Tasted on 5/26/12 from a growler, thanks to Nick. Pours completely opaque black with a thin beige head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is full of coffee and dark chocolate with a nice bitter green hops aroma. The flavor is nice and dry with coffee, dusty dark chocolate, and the green, nicely bitter hops. The body is medium with average, stinging carbonation, and a long bitter dark chocolate and coffee finish. dimenhetfield (2554) - , Florida, USA - MAY 21, 2012
On draft at Charm City Burgers. Dark brown/black color with a thin brownish head. Nice pleasant aroma of chocolate and woody characters. Flavor is a little charred but still very enjoyable. NordicV (2542) - Malmö, Sweden, SWEDEN - JAN 29, 2012
Fat Lost Kangaroo. Svart öl med rubinröda tendenser i ljuset. Doft av rostad malt och kaffe. Ovanligt mycket kaffe i smaken för att vara en Schwarzbier. Smaken påminner mer om en stout om än inte lika fyllig och torr. God. fluffy (2461) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2011
roasted grains dominate, though it finished a bit thin with a hoppiness that sort of throws it off. not bad but not that interesting either.

draft @ redlight redlight. Roasted malts on the nose with notes of chocolate and charcoal. Pours very dark brown/black with a thick off white head. Pretty thick mouthfeel, rich and chocolatey with hints of smoke and bitter bakers chocolate. Pretty good. Flavor is great just pretty thick for a schwarzbier, reminds more of a baltic porter. oteyj (2138) - New Hampshire, USA - JUN 7, 2012
On tap at Churckey for the Funky Buddha event. Smokey malts and caramel toffee with espresso grounds and bitter bakers chocolate. Delicious. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 10, 2012
Draft. Black with good, creamy, tan head / Nose of toasted barley and tobacco / Medium, creamy body with modest acidity and long, dry, bitter finish / Very smooth flavors of dark roast coffee and tobacco, with a hint of dark caramel / Near perfect for this style. Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Deep black color, eggshell head. Aroma is roasted malt. Flavor is a very dry bitter roasted malt and coffee. This is pretty rough, not an easy drinking lager.
