Re-entering older ratings.

The aroma is light, a little smoky and malty. Growler from Chaps, it is dark ruby amber with a small head. The brown ale flavor hjas smoke from the pecans and malts.

Handbottle thanks to David. Pours a dark ruby color with a medium white head. The aroma is vinous, some nuts and Belgian yeast. The flavor is similar; certainly tart and fruity like a Flemish sour, Im not sure if this is intentional or not, but its not bad at all, Belgian yeast, nutty and obvious pecan flavors. Some chocolate. Very fruity and rich almost like a quad without the heat.

Growler, courtesy hopscotch. Pours a light chestnut brown color and topped by a small head of tan colored foam that recedes quickly to a thin film. The aroma is really nice showing notes of cocoa, toasted caramel, sweet pecans, brown sugar, and a nice yeast component. This stuff smells great. The flavor follows the same showing cocoa, roasted coffee, candied pecans, and sweet coconut. The yeast adds a nice creaminess and some spices to the flavor profile. The belgian yeast really ties everything together nicely in this one. Medium bodied with a smooth, and creamy mouthfeel with balanced carbonation that lends this to being a really easy drinker. This is a great treatment of the base beer, and one that I hope they do again.

Growler, courtesy hopscotch. The pour yields a dark, lightly hazy, chestnut brown body. A small, smooth head of tan foam holds steadfast, leaving behind minimal, spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is flat-out great, showing a base of toasted cocoa, caramel, sweet Georgia pecans, and creamy, toasted coconut. What really sets it apart from the base beer, however, is the ethereal, creamy, fruity yeast profile that serves to smooth everything together beautifully. Flavors follow the same delicious path, showing creamy and nutty, with notes of coffee, cocoa, and fatty coconut. Belgian yeast meets American roast, and the result is a home run. The body resembles melted ice cream, with a soft, pillowy, whipped carbonation that couldnt be any smoother. This stuff is awesome. I know, I know.....ANOTHER Maduro treatment.....but this one might just be the best yet. Great beer.

Growler courtesy of askofficerfriendly (I think). Pours a reddish brown color with an off-white to tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with tons of goodness: chocolate, brown sugar, candied pecans, toffee, some hints of molasses. Flavor is also sweet and malty with even more goodness: brown sugar, chocolate, yeast, toffee, caramel. Almost chewy and sweet. Medium body with a malty sweet finish. Really nice beer--wish I had more!

Growler Murky prune-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Wonderfully nutty aroma. Smells like Waffle Houses maple syrup slathered pecan waffles. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with modest carbonation. Sweet, nutty, dark fruit flavor. Malty, robust finish.

Call me a homer, but I freaking loved this beer. A very interesting, sweet twist on Maduro-- this would be amazing with Bolita. Pours Maduro brown with a slight, off-white head. Nose is belgian yeast, brown sugar, nuts, pecans, and a twinge of bitterness. Flavor is very similar with a pleasing nutty, brown sugary, belgian yeasty finish that just leaves the palate feeling great. Very enjoyable, the best Maduro treatment yet!
