downender (8928) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2017
Can from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Deep brown in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Plenty of citrus hops, tangerine and red berry fruit, some brown sugar, bready malts, before a somewhat hoppy finish. Very good.

Can from Boxbeers. Dark brown with a small beige head. Roasty with caramel, chocolate, coffee, cocoa fruit, slightly boozy but mellows out the more you get. Good.

DATE: November 25, 2017... OCCASION: Christmas tree in place, the season's preparations have begun... and a Thanksgiving beer showdown with Forgotten Boardwalk's Morro Castle... GLASSWARE: Stoudts pint... pours a velvet-black body and a fizzing, sizzling off-white head that settles to a smoke ring... not much else going on... deep, rich chocolate-almost like a tootsie roll--with a mild coffee presence that melds with spiced wine and roasted bread malts... smooth, lively, warm at its finish and quite drinkable in its 5.5%... its tobacco-infused, coffee-beaned, chocolate-laden flavor profile is big and appreciable--a brown that is anything but boring... in fact, one of the better browns I have had--I will seek this out again, come next fall...

12 ounce can at home. Thin beige head. Little bit of film on the glass. Not much aroma. Very dark brown in color. Taste wonderful and is nicely malted. Smooth with medium mouth fill. This is a very nice brown ale worth trying. Cheers!

The_Osprey (9343) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2017
September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale'. Mahogany brown with an orange hue, foamy light brown head leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is chocolatey, some light roast malts, bourbon biscuit and a definite ready salted crisps vibe on this showing. Body is light and pretty smooth. Taste is chocolate hobnobs, little papery and nutty with a dry finish. A nice brown ale. Seems quite rich but the dispense washes it out a little. (7-4-7-3-15=3.6)
