Can from Beergium. Dark brown color, beige head. Bitter taste with chocolate, nuts, a bit of wood, toffee, a bit of vanilla and bread. Bitter finish with nuts, wood, toffee, chocolate and a bit of vanilla. Very nice brown ale.

English-leaning brown ale, heavy on the candy bar side of the equation with a lot of chocolate and caramel and some British yeasty esters. Mild bitterness pops up near the finish, but the fade is mostly dark malt, veering bland in the fade. Not bad, just a bit dull.

Can from Salt Horse. Deep brown body with a medium beige head. Steady carbonation. Very faint lacing. Aroma of coffee, nuts and burnt sugar. Flavour of earth, caramel and raisins. Thin to medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Simple and tasty. I think a boozier version of this would be sublime.

"Maduro", Spanish for "mature". Canned 23.9.2016, so not too mature. Only very little off-white head on the edges of the teku. Colour is opaque dark brown, almost black. Smell is mostly dark chocolate, coffee and malts. Surprisingly thin body with basically no hop presence. Not much taste, undefinable sweetness, malts, possibly a touch of coffee. Not my type of brown ale.

On tap at World Of Beer. Very nice stuff indeed, toffee, bread and biscuit flavours with a mild sweet nut finish.

12 oz. canned 12/22/2016. aroma of cocoa, ash, toffee, mild coffee and orange zest. Dark brown body has a thin film of cream. Tastes of cocoa. caramel, toasted walnut, ash, coffee and lightly tart berry. Light-medium body has an annoying explosive carbonation, but otherwise this is a nice one.

$1.99 can from Total Wine, West Richmond. Pours cola-colored brown with a soft beige to tan head. Aroma is lightly smoky, definite chocolates, and some coffee. Flavor is incredibly smooth. Lightly sweet hazelnut, light milk chocolate, hints of creamy coffee, perhaps vanilla ice cream buried deep down. Wow. For a brown this is quite complex without being pretentious.

Can. Brown with a small head.Slight gentle chocolate flavour with coffee in background. Not a traditional brown ale but still a very pleasant beer. I am fast warming to this brewery.

Can at the Columbia, Ybor City. Deep chocolate fudge brown with a bit of translucency. Large khaki head. Chocolate malt aroma with a metallic note and some caramel/toffee. Sweet taste with an earthy hop backdrop, supplying a medium to long bittersweet finish. Notes of cherry cola and chocolate in the aftertaste. Decent enough brown ale.
