COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
NOTE: This is the rum and bourbon version

This Russian Imperial Stout is dedicated to Georgy Zhukov, arguably one of the finest generals of World War II, and to the barrels of the weapons used by Zhukov’s 1st Belorussian Front of the Red Army to push through the German-occupied territory of East Prussia in early 1945. We’ve aged this monolithic imperial stout in both rum and bourbon barrels to add a legendary depth of character and flavor including flavors of vanilla, dried fruit and baking spices to the dark chocolate and fresh-ground espresso qualities of the base beer.

Molasses, bitter chocolate and raisin-like fruit aromas give way to vanilla and rustic woodiness on the nose of this complex Imperial Stout. A palate of espresso, toffee and treacle is balanced by an assertive bitterness and a tannic and spicy texture imparted by extensive aging in both rum and bourbon barrels.

Taste is roasted malt, rum, bourbon, barrel, spice, molasses, chocolate, vanilla, excellent. Mouthfeel is heavy body, light carbonation, rum bourbon barrel and dark chocolate roasted malt aftertaste. Overall, really excellent stuff here.

Smaczne. Rumu nie czuć za to bardziej koniak i bourbon. Mimo to mnóstwo gorzkiej czekolady, kakao. Ciało gęste, niczym olej silnikowy. Perfekcyjnie ułożone.

Overpaid for this at the Cigar City, Tampa location, but what the Hell, $ doesn't matter on a beer-cation. Poured a black color with a tan head. Roast, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, coffee, barrel, lighter bourbon, and alcohol content hidden.

From notes. Had this one at a get together at Erik’s house for the AFC/NFC Championship games on January 21. 750 mL bottle. The pour is a nice thick black with a medium brown ring of head that leaves no lace as it hangs on. The aroma is full of chocolate and bitter espresso with a nice, deep vanilla and strong oak. There is a bit of alcohol on this, and a lighter dark fruit peeks through on the finish. This is pretty damn good. The flavor is just as good. The chocolate and espresso are huge. The dark fruits and vanilla come in slowly and the oak adds a nice depth with a hint of alcohol. It’s sweet and smooth, but this is excellent. The mouth feel is medium to heavy bodied and softly carbonated with a lingering chocolate and espresso on the back end. This is just excellent throughout. Damn. 8 5 8 4 17
