COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Russian Imperial Stout is dedicated to Gregory Zhukov. Arguably one of World War II’s finest generals and a man bold enough to appreciate the rich, complex flavors of a beer brewed to fortify a body through the Russian winter. Like military geniuses, Russian Imperial Stouts reach their peak with a little age on them, so we release Marshal Zhukov’s Russian Imperial Stout in sweltering August so that it will be at peak flavor come January or February. <P> Opaque black in color, the aroma has notes of espresso, chocolate, dark sweet toffee with hints of black strap molasses. The flavor starts with an unsweetened chocolate character and supporting notes of herbal dryness from English hop varietals. It then moves into dark toffee sweetness and closes with a slap of roasty espresso. Zhukov’s Imperial Stout pairs well with Mushroom Solyanka, dark chocolate, cherries and ground wars in Russia. Enjoy, comrade.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2018 22 oz bottle. Nearly pitch black. Head is very short and burnt siena in color, almost some reddish color. Aroma is complex with espresso, prune, cherries, cocoa, humus, and a bit of booze. Flavors are a similar profile containing molasses, soy, and some medicinal/herbaceousness. Brew is dense and sticky with a lingering film.

660ml bottle - shared by martjobolut - thanks! (4:4:5:3:9=2.5)
Terrible parafin aroma, Anna thinks it's a liquid fuel. Some sour bean snack. Rich soy roast taste. Thick palate, but pleasant carbonation. Bitter chocolate. Savoury. Choco powder. Pretty shitty stout.

Czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana brązowa, średnio obfita, drobna. W zapachu śliwka i wiśnia w mlecznej czekoladzie, paloność i kawa, wszystko intensywne i dobrze wyczuwalne. W smaku ciemne owoce, ale tym razem w połączeniu z gorzką czekoladą, do tego mocna kawa, lekko kwaskowa i paloność. Goryczka średnio-wysoka, trochę ziołowa, wyscyenie niskie, posmak kawy, gorzkiej czekolady i paloności.

It pours black with a dark brown head. Head retention is low. It has aromas of roast with a bit of dark chocolate mixed in. It has a moderate level of fruity esters like plums. There are also slight alcohol notes in the background. It has flavors or roast with a very slight burnt element. There is a dark chocolate note in the background. There is also a dark coffee element in the background as well. The dark fruit feature is closest to plums. It has a full body that is not quite chewy. It has a smooth texture and smooth alcohol warming. Carbonation is low as well. Overall, this provides a complex flavor combination that doesn't contain may elements, but those elements are well defined and work together.
