Hermetically sealed growler courtesy, of course, of ygtbsm94, another huge thanks! Black. Flat. Taste of vanilla, brandy, coffee. Taste is hot coffee, dark milk chocolate, vanilla. Smooth and strong. Tmoney99 (15126) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Growler shared by b3shine. Poured a black color with a minimal fizzy brown head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted dark chocolate, vanilla, woody and apple alcohol aroma. Heavy sweet toasted sweet malt flavor with a heavy sweet and small brandy alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

(Draught) Pours an opaque black body with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel, brandy, vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor of brandy, caramel, roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla with a dry oak, bitter, alcohol burning finish. deyholla (12588) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 2, 2011
Growler thanks to urwithdave. Poured pitch black with a dark brown head that dissipates very slowly to the edges. Aroma has a strong crab apple note with roasted malts and a bit of dark bread. Flavor started with roasted malts and a bit of dark chocolate and bread with a growing tart apple note. A bit hot but good.

Draft… RBWG ‘10… This beer rocks!… Coal black ale with a mid-sized, very creamy, light brown head. The aroma is actually very subtle. At first, I can’t pull much from the glass, but a couple brisk swirls release the wonders of fruity apple brandy blended in with the usual, hearty olfactory aspects of Zhukov’s Imperial Stout – deeply roasted nuts, dark chocolate, tobacco, charcoal and blackstrap molasses. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. Delicious! Sweet, fruity apple brandy is not overdone. Melds nicely with the burnt, carbonaceous aspects of the base beer. Lengthy, singed, bittersweet finish. The bitterness lingers long after the sweetness fades away. For me, the brandy barrel works much better with the base beer (Zhukov) than the Hunahpu. Another world class beer from Wayne and Joey! alexsdad06 (11224) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 23, 2013
Growler shared by b3shine 6/25/12 from notes. Pours a thick oily black color with no head, but it sticks to and coats the glass. The aroma is roasted malts, decadent chocolate, apple brandy and wood. The flavor has caramel, chocolate, roasted malts, apple brandy and wood. Oily, viscous, smooth on the palate. Extremely drinkable with all the big flavors going on. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 14, 2011
Black pour. Aroma of chocolate, green apples and espresso. Flavor is heavy on the green apple note, too much actually. Could have used more carbonation too. Not that it was bad, but not my favorite stout from CCB.phaleslu (10898) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 22, 2010

Wonderfully black pour with a brown head. Roast, deep dark chocolate, barrel notes, vanilla, coffee and espresso both. Flavor is sweet, rich, dark, and sinister. Amazing. Some barrel notes, chocolate, great coffee, dark roasted malt. Vanilla. Jesus, CCB knows stouts!
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2012 16 oz. handbottle via trade, but we had about 9-10 ounces left due to leakage. The stuff was still good, and thanks again! Pours an opaque dark brown with no head or visible carbonation- possibly because of the conditions some oxidation may have occurred. Hot aroma with alcohol right up front, but hard to pin down as brandy. Also notes of cocoa, tobacco, espresso, and burnt wood. The flavor is also boozy and has ’barrel’ notes, smoked wood, dark fruits, cocoa, and brown sugar. Full-bodied, with a thick, boozy mouthfeel and boozy finish. No carbonation, very smooth. Big alcohol burn. Nice beer and I’m glad it held up. Re-Rate: 2012 growler shared by Paul- thanks! Fortunately, this one didn’t have the leakage issues the other one did. Pours an opaque dark brown with a tiny tan ring for a head. The aroma and flavor are equally sweet- nice apple brandy, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts, and oak. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth, sweet mouthfeel and low carbonation. Didn’t quite pop as much as the Apple Brandy Hunahpu’s, but still fantastic.
