Bottle at Jim’s back tasting! Black with small brown head. Sweet malts, black berries, apple syrup, vanilla, coffee, molasses, dark chocolate, licorice. Over medium sweet, medium bitter, light sour. Full bodied with slick feel. Nice. jackl (8557) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 2, 2017
Bottle thanks to THE HOFF. Deep brown pour with a tiny head. Baked brownies. Some earthy, leathery notes. Mild raisin. Some vanilla and butterscotch accents too. Really well integrated. Some tobacco and dark chocolate up front. Hot barrel. Mellow sweet rocky road fudge on the finish. Good stuff. Oily, fat and vicscous. Graceful notes of oxidization. Top tier effort.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours an oily black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is full of dark grains and roasted malts with bourbon and a bit of coffee underlying. Flavor combines dark grains, roasted malts, bourbon, molasses and a bit of toffee backing. rami_pl (4798) - Warszawa, POLAND - NOV 19, 2017

This has been a long time coming.. black, cream head, oily thick. Aroma sweet dark roast, light bourbon, molasses, coffee-grounds, light vanilla and parfumed oak. The taste is old world... big roasty malt, licorice and coffee. Light bourbon, could have been a little more powerfull imho but really really great still. The mouthfeel is about as oily, slick and rich as one could hope for. Aftertaste is very peasant and never ending. Serious beer. kermis (14999) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUL 1, 2017

750 ml bottle shared by hopscotch - thanks again, Eric! I was surprised I’d never had this one, and then looked it up and realized how many MZ variants have passed me by. It pours an opaque near-black with a small brown head that settles into a ring. Very fudgy, with chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, molasses, oak, coffee, and faint licorice. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, coating, rich mouthfeel. Could’ve guessed the brewery blindfolded. They’re consistent with their big stouts.
