COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Imperial Stout is dedicated to George Zhukov, arguably one of the finest generals of World war II. Opaque black in color, with notes of espresso, chocolate, dark toffee and hints of black strap molasses. The English hop varietals provide a subtle herbal dryness, and finishes with a hearty slap of roasty espresso. Pair Marshal Zhukov with Mushroom Solyanka, dark chocolate, cherries and ground wars in Russia.

750 ML bottle thanks to Owen for sharing Black sludgy pour. Usual CCB head. Dark leather color. Good retention to the head before finally falling to a collar. Nose is espresso, roasted malts, char, and burnt grain. Subtle oak and bourbon character. First thought was the beer ate the barrel. taste was more the base beer than the barrel. Lots of roasted grain, chocolate, coffee and soft barrel character. Big and burly sipper. Beer really ate the barrel character in this but did not dampen the overall beer at all.

Bottle. Pours darkest brown with a thin light brown head. Aroam of malt, bourbon, raisin and chocolate. Malt and chocolate flavor with some roastiness before a bourbon finished. Came together really well. Nicely balanced and the flavors all meld very nicely.

750 mL bottle. Pours inky black with just a few mocha bubbles. Smells nutty and oaky. Sharp bourbon. Chocolate. Smells boozy. Tastes of bourbon, oak, dark chocolate. Heavy roasted malts with just as much sweetness and some dark fruits, too. Boozy and oaky finish. Heavy, as expected. I didn’t expect this to be my style. Perhaps it still isn’t my style, but it’s tasty.

Bottle to snifter. Pours a pitch black color with a small deep khaki to burnt brown head. Nose is fudge, marshmallow, vanilla, chocolate. Tatse shows more tobacco and soy sauce, more like the regular version. Still a prominent barrel and vanilla flavor. Light pepper in the finish. Lovely.

2013 on tap. Pours jet black. Nice tan head. Smell of Zhukov with a bourbon nose. Taste is great. The rum goes perfect with the beer. It breaks it down, makes it less thick, and the rum takes over. But not to strong. My favorite Zhukov variant for sure.

Poured a dark brown color with aromas of roast, chocolate, earth, bourbon, and some light coffee. Flavors are the same, fudge like with bourbon added. A solid imperial stout aged on bourbon, light vanilla in the back end.

Opaque black beer, small chocolate coloured head. Silky smooth soft palate. Smooth dark malt, not bitter or roasty. Smooth bourbon with a strong cherry streak and lesser strawberry! Mild vanilla oak. Subtle coffee and a trace of dark chocolate. Smooth finish with a little bitterness kicking in - marries up to the coffee. Superbly balanced and integrated. A belter of an Imperial Stout.
