COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Imperial Stout is dedicated to George Zhukov, arguably one of the finest generals of World war II. Opaque black in color, with notes of espresso, chocolate, dark toffee and hints of black strap molasses. The English hop varietals provide a subtle herbal dryness, and finishes with a hearty slap of roasty espresso. Pair Marshal Zhukov with Mushroom Solyanka, dark chocolate, cherries and ground wars in Russia.

Opaque black beer, small chocolate coloured head. Silky smooth soft palate. Smooth dark malt, not bitter or roasty. Smooth bourbon with a strong cherry streak and lesser strawberry! Mild vanilla oak. Subtle coffee and a trace of dark chocolate. Smooth finish with a little bitterness kicking in - marries up to the coffee. Superbly balanced and integrated. A belter of an Imperial Stout.

On tap at Hunahpu day 2011. Thick jet black with a mocha head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate and roasted malt. Taste follows, thick and creamy, so delicious!

Tasty stout. Looks and tastes like chocolate milk. Surpasses old rasputin in class. If you like imperial stouts this is the winner

Sampled at Tryst in Delray Beach A: Scary ass pour...pitch black, thick as oil - sheets of beer coat the glass, big brown cap. S: Bourbon (but very well balanced, not hot or boozy), oak/wet wood, lots of vanilla, amazingly complex. Light underlying sweetness (not Hunaphu sweet though) + fudge and cocoa T: More bourbon than the nose, but still kept balanced, big fudge and chocolate, cocoa, bitterness. Very well rounded and the flavors all play off each other well. MF: Monster body on this - one of the thicker stouts I’ve had, carbonation was spot on considering the growler pour a few days after Notes: Glad to have tried this one! Wish I sampled the brandy version as well.

Dark black in color, clear with a thin tan head. Big Chocolate and dark coffee aroma. Nice dark roasty malt flavor mixed with a good amount of hops. This was a big huge thick dark back brew. Lots of bourbon and oak flavoring in the body and finish. Lots of alcohol . Very tasty one of the best.

Entering old rates. 75cl bottle courtesy of degarth.

4 roses 2010 growler from JW77. Huge thanks! Pour is black as the night with no head. Huge vanilla, chocolate, prune, slight coffee notes in the aroma. Big and fucking bold. Thick and chewy body, but no where near the sludge of the brandy. Loads of dark chocolate, vanilla, slight bitter coffee, earthy, and slight bourbon. Delicious! Well integrated between beer and barrel.

Old tasting note from first Hunahpu release. I liked the Zhukov’s bourbon/brandy more than the Hunahpu’s - though I don’t have a lot of info (long day of drinking) - 8.0
