Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Sean9689. Pours pitch black with no head - pours like motor oil. Heavy dark roast, licorice and tobacco. Solid body, completely flat, massive roast and tobacco, some liquor accents but not that distinctive. Some heavy roast in the finish. Nice - but flat indeed. 290311

Opaque black beer, few tan bubbles for a head. Chocolate and wood nose. Smooth palate, no carbonation. Semi dry. Unsweet dark chocolate and dark malt. No roast. Subtle vanilla wood, not sweet or creamy. Trace of dark fruits. Fair bit of booze which provides warmth in the finish and a warming afterglow! The booze is mostly bourbon but there is a little brandy. Very good beer but not a patch on the Bourbon BA Zhukov. The blending has distracted from both base beers I think.
Bottle at CCB Day, Sätila 2012-07-07. Pitch black beer, brown quickly disappearing brown head. Vanilla aroma, whisky, milky, tar, licorice, woody, raisins, figs, grass, oak, soot, ash notes. Woody vanilla flavor, oily, raisins, vanilla, creamy, oak, dry, bitter, figs, dades. Very nice balance, alcohol is well hidden and the body is all you can ask for. UPDATED: SEP 28, 2010 Bottle. World class stout. Pours black oil with reddish black head. Thin retention along the glass. Nose of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon and licorice. Taste of mocha, coffee, smooth bourbon, vanilla and chocolate. Very rich and full mouth feel. It doesn’t get much better. brokensail (16444) - Dublin, California, USA - APR 12, 2012
Essentially black in color with minimal tan head forming. The bourbon seems to be a bit more prominent than the brandy, which is sort of unfortunate. Quite a bit of wood and roasted malt with a bit of dark chocolate. The flavor has a more pronounced liquor character with vanilla and wood being well represented, as well as the bourbon and brandy. Lots of roast with some sweet dark chocolate and fruits. Much better than the regular Zhukov’s. bhensonb (15188) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Capped 750 shared by IrishBoy. Pours very black with a few bubbles. Aromas of grape/berry and bourbon. Full bodied. Lots of bourbon and chocolate. Touch of treacle. Quite tasty.
