COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Russian Imperial Stout is dedicated to Gregory Zhukov. Arguably one of World War II’s finest generals and a man bold enough to appreciate the rich, complex flavors of a beer brewed to fortify a body through the Russian winter. Like military geniuses, Russian Imperial Stouts reach their peak with a little age on them, so we release Marshal Zhukov’s Russian Imperial Stout in sweltering August so that it will be at peak flavor come January or February. <P> Opaque black in color, the aroma has notes of espresso, chocolate, dark sweet toffee with hints of black strap molasses. The flavor starts with an unsweetened chocolate character and supporting notes of herbal dryness from English hop varietals. It then moves into dark toffee sweetness and closes with a slap of roasty espresso. Zhukov’s Imperial Stout pairs well with Mushroom Solyanka, dark chocolate, cherries and ground wars in Russia. Enjoy, comrade.

Thanks Matt for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing pitch black with no head or lacing. The nose shows light caramel and toffee malts. The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. Lightly tart with flavors of light bourbon with hints of soy sauce. Smoky with a toaster bitterness on the finish.

Rami Rami is drinking a Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout by Cigar City Brewing at Chmielarnia MarszałkowskaBardzo fajnie klasyczny, mocno palony, polwytrawny, kwaskowaty, figowy, owocowy, ryli klasa, czadowy. I dosc lekki w odbiorze

Wzór Imperial Stoutu. Czekolada, lukrecja, sos sojowy, pumpernikiel. Bardzo słodkie, zbalansowane. Doskonałe.

Fantastyczny aromat kawy, czekolady, pojawia się także sos sojowy i pumpernikiel. W smaku sypkie kakao, dużo ciała. Robi mega wrażenie.

Bottle at Christmas Dinner, paired with politics and chocolate. This is a mighty fine Russian Imperial Stout that leans more toward the sweet milk chocolate and raisin side than a lot of imperial stouts. Big flavors of chocolate, coffee, molasses, and Christmas pudding. A beer to ring out 2016 with.

650 ml. Ebony body with a cocoa-colored film of creamy bubbles. Aroma is espresso, chocolate toffee, oats, plum, dates and a touch of soy. Tastes of chocolate toffee, cocoa powder, dark coffee with cream, berries, oats and bitter iron-like notes of blackstrap molasses. Long finish shows some tobacco and merlot. Heavy body is smooth and rich, but has a drinkable balance for such a big dessert.

Weird. I had a rating for this once before, from a growler Joey brought to an Orlando RB tasting years ago. Now that rating has been moved to the Humidor Series Imperial Stout. I guess that’s right. Fortunately I recently had a bomber of this at a bar, so this one won’t get moved. Didn’t have that same meaty taste, so it’s probably definitely different. This was a straight up imperial stout, nothing weird or unusual, just typical CC: big, heavy, chewy. Coffee and chocolate and roast. Strong. Semi-sweet, lightly tannic.

Bottle. Pours black with a minimal brown head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Roasty malt notes with plenty of chocolate and sweet flavor. Full bodied with a sweet finish.

This was poured into a snifter. Thanks Willie. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a tan pinkie finger’s worth of foamy head. Slims out nicely to a concave rim around the glass. The aroma starts off with some nice dark roasty coffee bean, subtle sweet milk chocolate, dried chocolate, some sweet black and red cherries. Light dark chocolate slides in too. Dried dark fruits also come in as it warms. The flavor is rich and warming, smooth malty sweetness, pure and roasty. Blissful and roasty with a semi-sticky yet roasty aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice sipping quality for a cold night. Stickiness is there with the roast imparting a kindful delicious smooth feel running over my tongue. Overall, damn nice RIS with some youth to it. Did I just have it at the right time? If I had another bottle, would love to have another to age.

Thanks to Chalsk. Pours black with a thick tan (cherry)head. Aroma is espresso, roast, dark chocolate, cherry and molasses. Taste is bitter with some residual sweetness. Full bodied, smooth and creamy...just about perfect in that area. Great IS.
