COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Russian Imperial Stout is dedicated to Gregory Zhukov. Arguably one of World War IIís finest generals and a man bold enough to appreciate the rich, complex flavors of a beer brewed to fortify a body through the Russian winter. Like military geniuses, Russian Imperial Stouts reach their peak with a little age on them, so we release Marshal Zhukovís Russian Imperial Stout in sweltering August so that it will be at peak flavor come January or February. <P> Opaque black in color, the aroma has notes of espresso, chocolate, dark sweet toffee with hints of black strap molasses. The flavor starts with an unsweetened chocolate character and supporting notes of herbal dryness from English hop varietals. It then moves into dark toffee sweetness and closes with a slap of roasty espresso. Zhukovís Imperial Stout pairs well with Mushroom Solyanka, dark chocolate, cherries and ground wars in Russia. Enjoy, comrade.

I donít know the vintage on this bottle, but a snowy November night seems perfect. Black beer, decent milk chocolate colored head, some lace. Aroma is molasses, shoyu, raisin, coffee, vanilla. Flavor is blackstrap molasses, oak, vanilla, coffee, unsweetened chocolate, raisin, dried cherries. Finish is sweet and sour, with a deep roasty backdrop. Palate is thick, but not syrupy, carbonation subdued. This is really heavy beer.

My shitty amateur hour rating for Zhukov goes like this: Black. Very rich, inky, total tarry, chewy, dense burnt fruitcake. Nice. Rich impy. Probably more unique when it first came out.

Pours pitch black with big tan creamy head. Aroma is really nice and balanced. Sweet, almost sticky, brown sugar, fudge, dates, dark rich chocolate, roast, fudge, vanilla, coffee, toffee and liquorice. Taste is packed with balanced components, coffee, dark chocolate, brown sugar, liquorice, sweet liquorice, some dark berries, dark dried fruits. Its sweet, turns almost soy then roasty long finish. Very clean and fruity. Very smooth body and well hidden alcohol.

Bottle. Birthday beer! ! Pours a pitch black, thick beer with a big brown head on top. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel and some roast. Flavour is full, loads of sweetness, oak, dark fruits, slight booze. Very thick mouthfeel. Aftertaste has a bittersweet dark chocolate note in there. Rich, complex beer, full bodied and overall amazing.

22 oz bottle shared by Spencer. 2014 vintage. The pour is a viscous oily black with a dark khaki cored cap of head that slowly recedes to a collar with no lace. The aroma is really sweet. There is a lot of molasses and brown sugar with a little bit of dry roast and a decent leather character. The flavor is much different. There is a smokey malt that hides the chocolate and molasses. It's really good and complex. There is a little booze and some light leather notes. The mouth feel is definitely light. The carbonation is soft and moderately velvety, with a sugary molasses that lingers for the aftertaste. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with koleminer20 and Spencer. Aroma is smoky, leather, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, a little molasses, real nice. Appearance is thick as fuck, a black beer with a dark brown head. Taste is smoky, with a molasses character, dark fruit, cocoa, hot damn. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light, but itís a great carbonation and oily. Overall, Iím satisfied to have tried it.

So complex and absolutely incredible. Notes on sugar, chocolate and some cinnamon. Very similar to dark lord. Had a bottle pour at beer temple. Pours black and thick like motor oil.
