This Russian Imperial Stout is dedicated to Gregory Zhukov. Arguably one of World War II’s finest generals and a man bold enough to appreciate the rich, complex flavors of a beer brewed to fortify a body through the Russian winter. Like military geniuses, Russian Imperial Stouts reach their peak with a little age on them, so we release Marshal Zhukov’s Russian Imperial Stout in sweltering August so that it will be at peak flavor come January or February. <P> Opaque black in color, the aroma has notes of espresso, chocolate, dark sweet toffee with hints of black strap molasses. The flavor starts with an unsweetened chocolate character and supporting notes of herbal dryness from English hop varietals. It then moves into dark toffee sweetness and closes with a slap of roasty espresso. Zhukov’s Imperial Stout pairs well with Mushroom Solyanka, dark chocolate, cherries and ground wars in Russia. Enjoy, comrade.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2018 65 cl bottle (2017 edition) served in snifter. Poured black with three finger mocha tan head. Aroma: chocolate, vanilla, roasted espresso beans, dark fruit, grassy hops, pipe tobacco smoke. Taste: dark Chocolate, espresso, vanilla, licorice, dark fruit, molasses, raisins, whole wheat bread, caramel, toffee, hops, Christmas cake, plums, dates, brown sugar. Chewy mouthfeel. Full body with a long roasted and bittersweet finish with toffee lingering in it. Absolutely delicious, a real stonker of an Imperial stout.

22 ounce bottle. Opaque black color topped by a small bubbly tan head. Roasted malt nose. Notes of espresso and bittersweet chocolate. Upfront, flavor is intense bittersweet chocolate, espresso and burnt sugar. Thick, oily mouthfeel. As it warms, the 11% ABV begins to emerge. Finish is more roasted malt and resiny hops. Very well done.

Draft at One Mile House, NYC. Pours almost black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, hazelnut. Taste follows nose with some molasses and soy sauce notes. Boozy sweet finish.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2018 Puur zwart olie-achtig bier met mokkakleurige schuimkraag die redelijk snel inzakt. Cacao, koffie, chocolade, toffee, hint leder & tabak, roast. Goeie chocoladebittere afdronk. Knalstout.

Leje się jak smoła. W aromacie mega dużo kawy i... Grzyby? W smaku super. Mnóstwo czekolady i kawy, przede wszystkim kawa no i kurde jest ta nuta grzybowa(jakaś taka zupa borowikowa). W tle suszone ciemne owoce.

AROMAT :Mega intensywny. Kawa, kawa, kawa.
SMAK : Mega kawowe. Słodka kawa. Gęste, super ułożone.
Wystarczyło to piwo powąchać, żeby zarządzić "SZTOS ALERT"

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2017 Pours used motor oil black, with a nonexistent head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and molasses. Taste is brown sugar and toffee, warming to rich espresso and finishing with a dark chocolate aftertaste. A remarkable imperial stout.

Bottle. Sugar, distillate, confectionary, candy store, cookies. Chocolate, unbelievably smooth, but alcohol is clearly noticeable, lacks something that would cover the alcohol. A bit of a disappointment

weordie (1472) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2017
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Flavour is very much chocolate, really dominant but then hints of molasses and espresso sneak through the longer it's on the tongue with an even more deeply hint hint of cinder toffee. Very complex, very good.
