Bottle @ home as my 9000th rating. Opaque pitch black color, full sized dark brown head that lasts for quite some time. Aroma is malts, dark malts, some caramel, wood, a touch of liquor. Taste malts, dark malts, lightly liquorice, roast, initially lightly espresso, espresso roast in the finish, bitter, dark chocolate, lightly dry aftertaste with a good espresso roast and dark chocolate bitterness. Bottle from ericandersnavy. Above and beyond. Pours black with a really dark tan head. Aroma is celery. Go figure. More than full bodied. Mild carbonation. Bottle thanks to Don. Pours a dark brown with medium creamy tan head that lasts awhile. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee bean, molasses. From bottle at CBC, May 2012. It pours jet black, with a thin dark tan head. The nose is spice, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, treacle, tar and warming alcohol. The taste is roasted malt, salted caramel, liquorice, charcoal, alcohol warmth, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, wood and treacle, with a warming finish. Bittersweet roasty flavor with lots of dark chocolate, cocoa, a bit of coffee and a more bitter, burnt finish. Full thick rounded mouthfeel. A wonderful Imperial Stout. Bottle from Kingdom Liquors. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly diminished with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee, chocolate and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt flavor with a heavy dark bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.
