Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours an oily jet black body with a small dark beige head. Nose is deep chocolate and cocoa tones, licorice, dark malts, coffee, leather, syrup, brown sugar, hints of tobacco, cognac, port wine and vanilla. Taste is deep malty tones, huge licorice tones, tobacco, leather, raisins and hints of port wine, soy sauce, vanilla and faint herbs and spices in the back. Full, thick body, medium carbonation. Fantastic. This 2011 bottle has really aged well and is one of the best beers I’ve had in a long time. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 2, 2011
Black pour. Brown head. Molasses, raisins, chocolate, espresso, prunes. Flavor is sweet, smooth, more roast than Dirac, more light hops. Another great beer. darkguardian (733) - Florida, USA - MAR 22, 2011
Pours a huge deep black. Nose is spectacular. Salty fudge, slightly meaty with some black bread and big roasted malt. Flavor is huge milk chocolate, some raisin and date character and that danish saltiness I find in many of their imperials. Smooth, dark, and fantastic this is my kind of imperial stout. Best thing Mikkeller has ever done. dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 3, 2011
(sample at Dak’s). Pours dark brown with thin khaki head. Aroma of coffee, bacon and smoke. Taste is roasty with sweet malt backbone and dark some dark chocolate. Full bodied and slick texture. Really nice beer. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 24, 2011
Final four tasting at Daknole’s house. Pour is deep brown/black with a beige head. Aroma shows notes of roasted malt, pipe tobacco, cocoa powder, dark fruit, and earth. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of smoke, caramel, and espresso. Overall, I think I preferred this over both versions of Dirac.

10/10 i mörkhet. Jätte rökig i lukten. Tjock rökig och lite besk i smaken. Besk, rökig eftersmak. jcartamdg (3436) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Dark black, very viscous. Aroma of sweet malts, cinnamon is very present. Taste follows, sweet and chewy. Age has raised this beer above Dirac in my opinion.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2011 Bottle... Hunahpu’s Day 2011… This beer rocks!… Pours tar black with a small, creamy, beige head. Decent retention. The bouquet is a decadent, menacing swirl of charcoal, cinnamon, fudge, espresso, tobacco and dark chocolate with a glob of molasses and a suggestion of anise. Full-bodied and downright chewy with soft carbonation. The carbonaceous, bittersweet flavor offers blackstrap molasses, mocha and a gooey sliver of fudge. Hardy, nourishing, tobacco finish with a dash of salt – less salty than the Dirac. I think I’ll have another. Anybody got a spoon? World class beer! hamilton23 (619) - Alpine, California, USA - APR 2, 2011
Poured from 750ml bottle from Markwise. Pours nearly black with brown head. Nose is coffee, chocolate and molasses. Taste follows the aroma with some raisin and just a touch of bitterness in the back end. Thick mouthfeel, quite syrupy.
