COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The recipe for this stout (10% ABV, brewed with raisins and spice) was conceived by Wayne Wambles, Head Brewer at Cigar City Brewing and brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller. This is the Oak version that was for sale on Hunahpu’s Day 2011. Not treated in a Rum Barrel. Beer went directly into a just virgin oak barrel.

From Growler. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Nose is dark fruits, roasted malts, spices like cinnamon, sweet aromas and raisins. Flavors are sweetish, raisin, chocolate at first followed by nice roasty malts and oak. Body is thick and creamy and just coats your mouth. Nice long finish.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2011 (Rating #6500) Growler... Hunahpu’s Day 2011This beer rocks!… Pours midnight black and crude-oil thick with a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma is a hardy combination of dark chocolate, pouch tobacco, molasses, fudge, dried dark fruits and white oak. Ultra full-bodied with soft carbonation - finally, this is one that rivals Dark Lord’s viscosity. The flavor is robust and chock-full-of mocha, singed spices and herbs, burnt black malt and dried dark fruits accompanied by a small splash of crusted port. Finishes robust, roasty, and carbonaceous – a moderate pinch of salt at the wee end. World class collaboration!

Black and thick pour. Brown head. Vanilla, raisins, prunes, roast, burned sugar, chocolate, sweet espresso nose. Flavor is so rich and thick...sweet raisins, prunes, dark chocolate, rich port wine, roast and the oak offers a nice layer of flavor. Masterpiece.

on tap at CCB. HOLY COW!!!!!! This beer is absolutely amazing. Poured a pitch black with a chocolate brown/copper head. The aroma stunning with dark fruits, raisin, spice, oak, fudge, cream, and some dark roast. Flavor was even better than the nose with brownie, fudge, raisin, spice (like chili pepper), dark roast, and oak. The body is so thick, velvety, and creamy that it is unreal. One of my favorite of the day.

On draft at CCB for Hunahpu Day. Pours a big brown/ black with a tan head. Nose is roasted malts, raisins, ripe dark fruit, vanilla, spice, chocolate, brown sugar, and a hint of vanilla with some booze. Flavor is similar with raisins, vanilla, slight booze, and chocolate combining with malt and a bit of wood. Nice, medium to full-bodied stout.
