Pitch black colour, no head. Aroma is fruits, mild liquorice, toasted and smoked wood along with spices and mild alcohol as well. Flavour is quite much the same in a very thick and fullbodied way.
Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Black, no head. Heavy raisin and fig aroma. Sweet and hugely full bodied with rounded, syrupy mouthfeel. Super heavy with treacle and raisins. More heavy/raisiny than refined. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 20, 2011
On tap. Pours completely opaque black with a small brown head. Intense aroma of sweet dried fruit - lots of dates, figs, prunes and raisins while the burned malts are fairly downplayed. Very full and rich body, sweet dark chocolate and again this amazing array of dark dried fruits and sweet coffee. Sweet but not overly so, some malt bitterness in the finish but mainly just warming alcohol. The barrel character is downplayed yet present, I do get a slight feeling of raisins in rum. 110511 Travlr (24913) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 6, 2011
Draft at Churchkey, while chatting with Joey. No better way to enjoy a beer than with its creator! Nice cedar aroma. Taste has chocolate covered raisins, dates, prunes. Very nice. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2013

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Big cheers to Jack. Opaque black - brown beer, small dark tan head. Nice rum and raisin nose. Light dry palate, airy and smooth. Mild fine carbonation. Rich dark malt with the rum and raisin carrying over from the nose. Creamy dark malt, touch of vanilla and some pruney dark fruits emerging from the depths. Semi dry finish. Engaging and tasty and also pretty easy drinking.
