4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
NYE bottle share a Proof. Poured a pitch black with zero head. No collar, and no lacing, but some decent legs from the thick body. Aroma is of very dark malt with a lot of coffee and a touch of spice (cinnamon, clove or nutmeg?). Taste has a lot of raisin up front, with the deep malt in the middle, a touch of booze (rum) throughout. Extremely low carbonation but that thick body lends to a good mouthfeel.
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2017 Have been sitting on this one for a while and thought "what better to go with Christmas cake than a rum and raisin stout". Black pour, with a little tan head - fairy light carbonation. Big, fruity, boozy aromas, lots of dried fruit, a bit of vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Taste - roasty, dark chocolate, raisins, a little bit of rum comes through at first then a nice warm, slightly boozy finish. Pretty damn good. llkc (2839) - århus, DENMARK - OCT 20, 2017

75 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with no head. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, dark chocolate, dried fruit, rum, and liquorice - with a roasted finish. More balanced and drinkable than Bohr and Dirac. gregwilsonstl (2711) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Very dark black...blackest beer I’ve seen. Smells boozy. Is boozy. Rum. Woody.

Bottle shared during the November THT tasting at deanso’s place. Pours pitch black with a mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, raisins, roasted malts, caramel, molasses, cinnamon, rum and oak. Taste is very sweet and light bitter, quite boozy. Full body, low carbonation. Almost like a thick barleywine. mariuspoenari (3180) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 26, 2016
Bottle shared at the November THT at deanso’s place. Pitch black with a light espresso head. Notes of coffee, tons of chocolate, sherry, rum, dark cherries, caramel and cinnamon. Medium to full body, medium carbonation and a bitter-sweet and spicy finish. sjogro (5116) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2016
Sampled from bottle at "This is not really deanso’s last THT"-tasting. Black with tan head. Deep roasted chocolate malts and big barrel notes, slightly moldy. Big sweet and deep roasted bitter. Full body, malty, low carbonation. Roasty chocolate finish. MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2016
Bottle at almost Dean’s final tasting, but we’ll call it his final tasting anyway. Pours a pitch black beer with a small brown head on top. Aroma of roasted caramel, light cinnamon, lots of oak, light on the rum. Boozy in the mouthfeel, as well as very sweet, roasty with a caramel. Aftertaste is long and powerful, very thick and amazing. Very nice. Benzai (16928) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2016
Sampled from bottle @ Benzai’s final THT although MrHangover thinks it’s something else. Opaque pitch black color, average sized dark brown head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malts, rhum. Taste malts, rhum, bitter, raisins, dark malts. Don’t really get a lot of the subtle flavors but it’s very nice indeed! Lovely!
