3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Pitch black pour, little head, little lacing. Has an oily cola like appearance on the glass as I swirl it. This one is gonna be heavy! Nose of raisins and other associated dark pitted fruit. Light alcohol, a little sweet fig pudding as well. Heat right up front, roasty, smooth, heavy malts, with some subtle hints of Rum on the tongue. Low hop aspect overall. Lots of graham cracker on this one too. Cinnamon doesn’t really make an appearance, at least to me. Body and mouthfeel are smooth, moderate to full. A little warming on the backside, slightly astringent (green), with graham cracker, alcohol infused raisins (or dates), and a touch of Rum.   I expected this one to be more Rum like, less heat, and a bit sweeter. I think maybe if you have one of these, sit on it a while longer so that it can mellow a bit. Good as is, even if a little bruising. Thanks for the rare treat Jason!
75 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with no head. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, dark chocolate, dried fruit, rum, and liquorice - with a roasted finish. More balanced and drinkable than Bohr and Dirac. gregwilsonstl (2525) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Very dark black...blackest beer I’ve seen. Smells boozy. Is boozy. Rum. Woody. Svartvit (628) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2016
Bottle shared during the November THT tasting at deanso’s place. Pours pitch black with a mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, raisins, roasted malts, caramel, molasses, cinnamon, rum and oak. Taste is very sweet and light bitter, quite boozy. Full body, low carbonation. Almost like a thick barleywine. mariuspoenari (2724) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 26, 2016
Bottle shared at the November THT at deanso’s place. Pitch black with a light espresso head. Notes of coffee, tons of chocolate, sherry, rum, dark cherries, caramel and cinnamon. Medium to full body, medium carbonation and a bitter-sweet and spicy finish. sjogro (4263) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2016
Sampled from bottle at "This is not really deanso’s last THT"-tasting. Black with tan head. Deep roasted chocolate malts and big barrel notes, slightly moldy. Big sweet and deep roasted bitter. Full body, malty, low carbonation. Roasty chocolate finish.

Bottle at almost Dean’s final tasting, but we’ll call it his final tasting anyway. Pours a pitch black beer with a small brown head on top. Aroma of roasted caramel, light cinnamon, lots of oak, light on the rum. Boozy in the mouthfeel, as well as very sweet, roasty with a caramel. Aftertaste is long and powerful, very thick and amazing. Very nice. Benzai (15711) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2016
Sampled from bottle @ Benzai’s final THT although MrHangover thinks it’s something else. Opaque pitch black color, average sized dark brown head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malts, rhum. Taste malts, rhum, bitter, raisins, dark malts. Don’t really get a lot of the subtle flavors but it’s very nice indeed! Lovely! deanso (10150) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - NOV 25, 2016
75cl bottle shared at the Novembers Tht.
Thin tan head. Clear black pour. Really good. Tmoney99 (14601) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 21, 2016
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with a moderate creamy brown head that diminished slowly and produced sticky legs and little lacing. Good roasted chocolate malt, fruit and rum wood aroma. Copious body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Complex dark sweet stout flavor with a rum wood dark sweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer. alexsdad06 (10471) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 20, 2016
750 ml bottle shared with Tmoney99 and the Bengals group. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have mild roasted malts, chocolate, raisins, dark fruit, rum adds sweetness, wood, thick viscous mouthfeel, still solid after sitting.
