COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours amber in color with notes of caramel and slight hints of red delicious apple in the aroma. Flavor has a moderate earthy and herbal hop bitterness followed by moderate caramel notes that are subdued by floral hop bitterness in the finish. A damn good and authentic ESB.

First to rate! 5/20/11. On tap. Slightly hazed amber pour with a small tan head. Light aroma of caramel, chocolate, and nuts. Bigger nutty flavor with earthy hops and lingering subtle chocolate. Nice!

Poured up on tap at Cigar City Brewing Tap room with deep clear copper body and off white head. The modest aroma offers up some sweet light skin like fruity esters, some roasted malts and wet hop spiciness. The taste enters pretty crisp and fresh with apricot and cherry like fruity esters mingling with fresh spicy hoppiness, a bit of lemon and then a modest level of roasted malts. The taste seems to dry out a tad into the finish.

Nitro tap. Pours clear amber with a standard creamy beige nitro head, nice lacing. Aroma is light caramel, grass, biscuit. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, caramel, a touch nutty upfront, with floral notes behind. A bit of orange on the finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Solid.

Nitro @ Kickbacks. Amber pour with a creamy white head. Fairly neutral nose. Roasty bread, some caramel. Light woody hops. Somewhat pepper. Smooth creamy finish. Mellow bready sweetness. Soft and easy. Plays it straight.

Sampled on nitro draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a very dark caramel color with a large creamy orange-beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tart, vaguely fruity and had hints of toffee and apple. The flavor was tart and bitter with toffee, golden fruits, citrus and a hint of pepper. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Thanks to Armin for bringing the growler! Poured crystalline reddish-orange with a sticky, well-retained whitish head. The aroma picked up soft redder fruits and caramel with earthy and floral accents.. soft, fairly supple, and pleasant. The flavor found similar stuff.. redder fruit, caramel, and honeysuckle at the core.. fresh earth and floral bitterness around (moderate at most).. finished dry and just a little bitter.. well-balanced. Light-medium bodied and quite dry on the palate.. OK mouthfeel.. I could drink a whole lot, but since there are like 20 new stouts here, I won’t.
