The aroma is amazing with chocolate, vanilla, wood, and molasses. The appearance is dark brown with a brown frothy head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall an outstanding beer. My only complaint is that it has lactose as I am lactose intolerant and can’t have more than a few sips. Palidor19 (3193) - Brandon, Florida, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Strong beer with a heavy espresso, dark chocolate flavor that is dominate all the way. Strong malts with a real opaque looking deal. The beer is a triple collaboration that works on all fronts.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours motor oil black with a small, creamy, brown head. Decent retention. The aroma features elements of mocha, vanilla, and maple wood. Full-bodied and velvety with kicked-back carbonation. The flavor is sweet and bursting-at-the-seams with maple wood, vanilla and chocolate layered upon more subtle notes of charcoal and cola. Finishes woody, carbonic and medium-sweet. I don’t pick up as much of the coffee component as most raters. Many thanks to landhoney for popping the top off this world class bottle of beer! callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Dark brown-black body, moderate sized khaki head, spotty lacing. Nose shows deep coffee notes, vanilla, chocolate, wood, and some grassy hops. Flavor continues to highlight freshly roasted coffee, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, wood and ads a nice earthy character. Full bodied, appropriate carbonation, lightly bitter, dry, earthy finish. This poured a darker brown color with a darker beige head. Aroma was lighter coffee, dark roasted chocolate, and some green earthy hops. Flavor was chocolatey, but roasted, fully attenuated, yet thick and chewy. Lightler and different than other CCB big stouts.

like a Mackeson’s, only better. definitely get some of the maple and woodiness, vanilla and black coffee. pours like used motor oil or espresso. rich and heavy, a bit oily on the tongue. definitely one of their best ive tried so far. cheap (6090) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 23, 2012
Smells like imoy stout. Nice pour with a choco moose head. Not really imperial but tries to get there. Sweeter fer sure. Chocolate fer sure. Not bad, I am surpized that it is not over the top like so many ther CC i’ve tasted. Goes down fairly easy but it does not hide its alky well. Very slight co2 makes this palatable. Yes, very glad this is not the typical cc BS. Good overall experience. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - DEC 22, 2012
Much much thanks to Eric for the hookup of this much wanted brew: The bar is set very high for this so it have a hard time exceeding expectations and will do good just to meet them: LamarBurton (376) - California, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Nearly pitch black with a lovely tan creamy head and outstanding lacework on my .rar Expedition snifter. The aroma starts with a big hit of vanilla bean and cocoa followed by lots of pipe tobacco and leathery esters. Moderate espresso and charred malts along with a dash of oatmeal bread and herbal hops. LOVELY NOSE!
The taste is quite nice, I like the earthy notes, tobacco and "TAMPA LIKE" character this provides. My biggest beef is that that vanilla is too strong for the coffee and therefore makes it sort of cloying sweet. Dial back the vanilla and this is a world class sweet stout. Also not much of that Canadian Maple Wood notes, sort of just the standard CCB woody character. The mouth feel is slick and oily, surprisingly not all that sticky or heavy. Overall this rocks socks and MET MY EXPECTATIONS which really says a lot. Great job Joey and the crew.
Bottle pour thanks to Armin...Beer of the night in my book! Pour is a thick and rich black, with a dark mocha head that sticks around to leave some sticky candy lacing. Aroma is bakers chocolate, vanilla, milk caramel. Lots of coffee as well. Lightly bready. Taste...holy god this tasted amazing. The amount of chocolate present in this beer was insane. Chocolate covered whoppers! I have a hard time believing that chocolate was not used in any way here! Truly just a great blend of sweet malt, chocolate, and coffee. Finish is sticky sweet, with a lingering coffee taste. I would take this over KBS or any number of other coffee stouts. Fantastic beer! arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, big thanks to Paul! Thick black pour with creamy tan head, aroma has big, big notes of coffee, vanilla, some big dark chocolate, slight maple syrup, big roast and toffee. Taste is a nice mix of coffee, vanilla, hints of maple syrup, nice green espresso bean, touch of milk, big malted milk ball, dark bakers chocolate. This is delicious, and very well made, although rich.
