Oct 25, 2012 edition Bottle to Stone IRS tulip. I actually said "wow" as I poured this. It’s much thicker than I thought with a consistency reminiscent of used motor oil. Not much head and no visible carbonation with a swirl, the liquid briefly stains the glass similarly (but not as heavily) as Marshal Z. Big coffee and potting soil aroma. Again, wow. Very flavorful. Strong brewed coffee, dark chocolate syrup, and bourbon vanilla extract. Pretty clean finish except for a little lingering coffee bitterness, vanilla essence, and a touch of oxidation.
From notes. Enjoyed this baby at a line share at Witch’s Hat on St. Patty’s Day. Uncle Rudi poured this 750 mL bottle, and I’ll thank him for it, even if he is a gigantic douche. The pour is jet black and looks like motor oil. There is a nice dark tan head that works its way down to a thicker collar. There is no lace left on the glass, but this one does discolor when you swirl it around. The aroma is pretty good. There is a light coffee to it, a strong lactose, and a nice combination of chocolate and vanilla that make it lovely. There is a hint of woodiness to it, which was a little unexpected. The lactose really dominates the nose, which I’m not too fond of. The flavors are a little better, but the sweetness drowns it out. There is a strong coffee and chocolate on this one. There is a light roast present, and a great vanilla on the way back. It’s not too bad, but I just have a hard time with such a dominating lactose. The mouth feel is thick and chewy with a nice soft carbonation and a lingeringly coffee vanilla aftertaste. It’s really excellent. This one is one I’ve been after for a little while, so I’m glad I got to try it! ebone1988 (2122) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - MAR 17, 2016

Bottle: Thanks Trevor: Served in a Duvel glass:
Dark almost (pitch) black pour which leaves a pitch black beer in the glass with a medium sized brown foamy head. Looks good!
Aroma has loads earthy coffee roast tones with some cacoa, chalk, coal, wood roast. Quite a complex aroma. Very nice.
Flavour is good coffee roast with some dark chocolate, bitters, earthy tones, some malt roast, coal, wood roast and a hint of something like light vanilla.
Aftertaste is roast, coffee, nuts, malt roast, some light earthy tones and coal.
Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, more towards a full body and a light creamy light watery texture.
