Big thanks to IBrew2or3 for bringing this growler. Pours amber-brown with an off-white head. Nose is caramel, toffee, oak, vanilla, sugar, berry, some hops, and some coriander. Everything integrates pretty well in the flavor : caramel, vanilla, slight booze, spice, coriander, toffee, oak, berry, and some hops. Berry and oak almost nullify the hops. Balanced and medium bodied overall. Very interesting beer. Ibrew2or3 (8814) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 29, 2010
Growler pours clear mahogany with ruby red hues and thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with plums, sugar coated raisins, spicy oak and sweet plums. The taste is smooth as silk and nearly velvety with notes of black licorice, spice, spicy oak, plums, brown sugar and cinnamon dredged apples wedges, molasses, floral hops, spicy hops and some solid roastiness in the background for good measure. Man! Lots going on here. But it comes across with flavor harmony. Excellent variant. I hope I can try the non-oak aged one day. MeadMe (1683) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - JAN 28, 2010
A: Pours a nice amber hue with a small head. It does manage bit of lace though.
S: Wonderful aromas. Loads of fresh oak. There is a big candy sweetness as well.
T: Tasty for sure. Lots of sweet caramel and brown sugar. Mild dark fruit, and sweet apple. The wood is big and the sugary sweetness seems to blend perfectly with it. Very mild herbal hoppy notes, with a bit of booze in the finish. Really Really Nice Treatement.
M: On the fuller side of medium, rich, smooth, sweet. kiefdog (1827) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 27, 2010

Pours amber with little head. Nose is intense wood, spice, alcohol, sweet candy, raosty malt, hints of sherry and other liquors, cinnamon, slight oxidation, caramel and cocoa. Flavor is rich sweet fruits, fresh cut wood, spices, cinnamon, brown sugars, plum, apples, hints of sweet cherries, sherry, cocoa, roasted grains and warming alcohol. This is definitely a top beer made by CCB. Awesome!
