Poured a brown color with aromas of light roast, some toast, earth, nuts, and a touch of chocolate. flavors were the same, decent body on the mouth feel. A solid brown, but CCB does pretty great brown ales. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2014
On draft at Cigar City. Pours a deep, hazy brown with a cream colored head. Nose is tobacco, chocolate, toast, and earth. Flavor is similar with a great chocolate presence, some noticeable toast, some earth, and prevalent tobacco. Medium to full in body, lingering tobacco in the finish and really a great brown ale. On tap at the brewery. Dark amber pour. Aroma is roasted, nutty, earthy. Tastes are the same with toffee. Only seemed slightly different than the maduro (though I can’t put my finger on how exactly). 7.2 cgarvieuk (24166) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 16, 2014
Tap at the brewery... Deep copper brown... Thin tan head... Dift coffee roast... Dark berries.. Dark makts... Sift fruits... Big berry finish BMMillsy (1788) - Florida, USA - FEB 11, 2014
Growler from CCB. Pours brown with some ruby hue and nearly no head, just a small off white ring of bubbles. Big oatmeal and coffee aroma, nuts, chocolate. This smells delicious. Flavor is lots of sweet chocolate and some toffee, some nuttiness, roasted coffee bitter on the finish. A hint of sweet fruits in the background. Tasty but not super complex. Mouthfeel is medium with low carbonation. This isn’t a whole lot different from Maduro (and doesn’t taste like backwards Maduro) so not sure what the point of brewing it is. It is a little heavier and my growler was in the flat side (first opening and only got it 2 days ago). Not bad, definitely worth enjoying any time, but not worth seeking out.
