Cask... Cigar City Brewing "Launch Party"... Hazy burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Big time black tea aroma with hints of cedar and tobacco. Medium-bodied with gentle carbonation. The flavor is initially sweet with lots of black tea and a dab of chocolate; moderate bitterness on the backside. Finishes bitter, a touch abrasive and very dry. sebletitje (10095) - Enghien, BELGIUM - DEC 23, 2011
Entering old rates. From the CCB Launch Party March 2009.

On tap at the OTH launch party pouring dirty brown with gold – copper like edges and micro thin white head. The aroma initially reminds me of bubbling caramel malty wort. I get lots of caramel and roasty malts and then moving into fruity notes like dark grape juice mixing with mild citrus sweet tangelo and molasses. The taste initially seems like cold wort as well with sweet malts, roasted malts, molasses and caramel. To midway the flavor slowly moves into mild dry roasty malt astringency mixing with a light amount of pine, grassy hops, a hint of sweet grape juice and then a touch of grainy malts and molasses. The caramel runs from the front to the back of the flavor. I got very little, if any, cedar notes. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2009
Draft at launch party. Pours brown-orange with an off-white head. Nose is malt, caramel, toffee, vanilla, some citrus, and hints of wood/ oak. This is the most excited I have ever been over an amber. Flavor is vanilla, caramel, malt, mellow hops, and a gourd flavor that reminded me of pumpkin, but was not sweet enough for pumpkin pie. Limited sweetness and lots of flavor. Finish lingers with wood, vanilla, and earthy hops. Enjoyable amber. Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2009
First rating of this beer. Draft at the CCB launch party at Oldsmar Taphouse. Pours a dark, hazy, burnt auburn color. A foamy, light tan head crowns the surface, leaving decent lace. The nose is dry and hoppy, with a big, peppery cedar presence showing atop a caramel and biscuit malt base. Floral and citrus hop varietals lend significant, aromatic bitterness. Flavors follow suit, toasted biscuit malt laying the baseline, while zesty citrus hops and spicy cedar add bitterness and depth. The finish is long and cedar laden. Medium bodied, semi-dry, and peppery, the mouthfeel could use a bit more substance, but that might detract from the sessionable nature of this fine brew. Damn nice amber ale....honestly, it’s about as good as an amber I’ve ever had.

A: Pours a slightly cloudy amber hue. Nice foamy head with ok retention. Some spotty lace noted.
S: The nose is all about the hops and the cedar. Lots of grapefruit with bold earthy woody fresh cut cedar.
T: Same as aroma. Solid amber used as a base here. Nicely hopped with citrus notes. The cedar pushes through in the middle and overpowers. The finish if full of earthy woody cedar with brings out a touch of pepper like spice as well.
M: On the thinner side of medium. Good carbonation.
D: Not bad. Not CCB’s best beer by far, but tasty and unique nonetheless.

On tap. Slightly hazy amber, very little head. Quite mild aroma, light sweetish malts, earthy hops. Iced tea flavor, very mild presence, don’t get much wood flavor. Basic, but well done. juiceisloose (1493) - Windermere, Florida, USA - APR 4, 2009
On draft at the Oldsmar Taphouse for the CCB launch party. Pours a dark amber color with a small, foamy tan head that leaves some lacing behind. The aroma shows citrus and floral hops on top of a sweet caramel malt base with some hints of cedar wood. The flavor follows with some sweet caramel, toasted biscuit, and citrus hops add bitterness. The cedar shows up adding some spicyness. As it warms the malts turn a bit syrupy with the sweetness. I didn’t get a whole lot of the cedar flavor in this. Medium bodied and touch syrupy on the mouthfeel with a long, dry and bitterfinish. Well crafted, but wasn’t my favorite beer of the day. DragonStout (1416) - Groveport, Ohio, USA - MAR 29, 2009
