UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 Almost a 1 year old growler from the Order of the Red Banner event that Blazer06 graciously shared at Markwise’s Bday bash, I am in debt to him for sharing this treat. Poured a dark brown with light carbonation, aromas of roast, coffee, vanilla, espresso, and chocolate. Light booze in the flavor with some vanilla that is mixed perfectly with the coffee, and roasted malt. Light carbonation, and it stained the glass so bad, it took me 2 times to rinse it out, and even the water was great. Thanks Zach for the share.
Edit: I’ve now had this beer on multiple occasions I first rated it a 4.7 however each time I have it to me it gets better and better. I had to edit this to a 5 because I would hunt this down at no costs. This truly is the best beer I’ve ever had and should be rated as my holy grail of beers. Something to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first "Star Wars" movie hitting the theatres. (Remember when it was called simply "Star Wars"?)
Pours coffee sable with a thick chocolate head that leaves good lacing. Dang, this takes the Appearance level all the way to 11! Aroma offers roast malt, coffee, vanilla, smoky, and subtle earthy tones. Flavor bursts with coffee, chocolate, roast malt, smoky, earthy, vanilla and even slight nutty tones. A stout worthy of a Marshal! It is sweet but not cloying. Viscous mouthfeel presents peppy fizz. I did a little boning up on Zhukov, and apparently he was one helluva general - we needed him to kick Hitler’s ass. Thanks, Georgy. And thanks, Cigar City, for a superb Imperial Stout. 50belair (3617) - Florida, USA - AUG 8, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2011 Growler shared at the Coffee District. Joan Jett black pour with a small brown head. Bold fresh roasted coffee, vanilla, and chocolate aromas. The taste is brash with all kinds of dark roasted malt and rich bold coffee with undercurrents of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and black liquorice. Huge body with great balance. Outstanding..... daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 12, 2011
Again, I thank a really great friend for this beer. Dark pour. Loads of fresh coffee, roast, ash, chocolate. Damn this is good. Tons of rich coffee, chocolate, light molasses, awesomeness! hopscotch (11048) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 25, 2011
Growler… This beer rocks!… Pours thick and black with a mid-sized, fluffy, brown head. Decent retention. The nose presents chocolate chips and Cuban-roast coffee with a suggestion of manure and a sticky hint of vanilla. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor is a scrumptious swirl of milk chocolate, sweet vanilla and huge Cuban espresso. Finishes, sweet, creamy and absolutely scorched. A totally world class treatment of a totally world class imperial stout. Thanks a ton, Tony!

Black pour, dark brown head with auburn hues that disappears. Nose is huge cocoa and some Cubano beans, roasted malts. Taste is the sane, just so much chocolate, Cubano espresso in the background, some sweetness from the vanilla. Only complaint is the nose is almost of artificial chocolate, though the taste is on point. Like a slightly bigger, better version of Funky Buddha’s Nib Smuggler. Does anyone make a better looking stout than Cigar City? Pitch black, opaque, viscous body with a thick, beige collar resembling wet sand. Lovely aroma of coffee, chocolate. The base beer here is terrific and really shines through. Coffee notes are stronger than the vanilla character. Well balanced. Thick body and delightful to sip. Winner. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - APR 25, 2017
Fantastic coffee stout! Motor oil with rich chocolate head. Great base beer is slightly covered up by coffee, vanilla and bitter cacoa, but opens up nicely...coffee (rich earthy nutty sweet) and vanilla still dominating a little, but not too much. Thick, smooth body. DEliious!
