On tap Cigar City pouring amber – copper with a moderate level of opacity and gold edges with a nice lasting off white head. The aroma is very spicy with hops as well as tropical fruit hard candy, dried citrus, dried apricots and sweet sugary mango. The taste is thick citrus and toprical mango notes and getting very orange and grapefruit as well as candied mango to midway. Heading into the finish all those flavor hop notes are met by increasing levels of resiny citrus hop bitterness. This is a very pleasing and bold all hop forward American Style Barleywine. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 16, 2011
on tap at CCB on Hunahpu’s Day - 3/12/11. hazy orange pout with a 1/4" off white head. light hop nose with bits of orange peel. tons of hops through the body with caramel malts, apple and light fruits. some tropical fruit notes up top and through the finish with a sticky bitterness. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 15, 2011
Another one of the amazing beers from Hunahpu Day 2011. Pours an orange amber with a white head. Nose is insane: caramel, citrus, hops, whiskey, vanilla, and lots of sweetness, but somehow not overly sweet. Flavor is massive caramel, citrus, vanilla, whiskey, with some wood, honey, and no booze whatsoever for a 13% beer. Absolutely top notch barleywine. Please please please make more of this medium-bodied, uber-balanced, and unbelievably drinkable barleywine. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 14, 2011
Pours a nice brown color with a perfect creamy head. Aroma is sweet and loaded with caramel, honey, mild hops, oak and light whiskey. Flavor is sweet and has a great balance of caramel, whiskey, oak and finished with a good bitter bite. 13%? Incredible!

Had this on hunahpus day. Was excited to try a barley wine from cigar city. Nose was hoppy and caramel. Citrus. Taste was earthy toffee. Hops and wood. Didn’t taste like 13%. Overall a decent barley wine. But when nemesis is there, u gotta up your game mlunger12 (645) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2011
Wow, first to rate, on tap at Cigar City for Hunahpu 2011. Pours a deep amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy, little hint of 13%. Very bitter but it really covers the alcohol. Very Nice.
