From old tasting notes. Draft at the Fruit in the Room. Pours a hazy golden yellow in color and topped by a small head of off white foam. The aroma shows of bread, dry pale grains, yeast, hints of citrus, and sweet banana. The banana is really evident up front. The flavor follows with the banana, yeast, esters, and bread and balanced out with some hop bitterness on the back end. Medium bodied with balanced carbonation that leads to a sweet banana finish. I’m not big on banana in beer, but this was a solid treatment to the base beer. UnholyBrewing (596) - Central Florida(Upper Hell), Florida, USA - SEP 15, 2012
...had this a while ago in the Cigar City tasting room. If I remember correctly, it had a staleish plantain flavor, that did not balance well, and seemed to overpower the beer. I don’t remember there being any prominent wheat or yeast notes in there, and finished like a dry plantain. rbrazell (1763) - Florida, USA - SEP 27, 2011
Fruit In The Room 2011. Pours a pale murky yellow with a white head. Nose is grainy bread and banana. Flavor is light and subtle with banana and grains. adam42381 (627) - Fort Myers, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2011
Review from notes at Cigar City’s taproom on 9/9/11 for Firkin Friday.
Draft poured into a CCB pint glass.
Appearance: Poured a light gold with a 1/2 finger white fluffy head. Decent lacing.
Smell: Wheat and sweet banana.
Taste: Banana and sweet citrus up front followed by sweet wheat in the middle before ending with cooked plantains.
Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium-bodied with a nice amount of carbonation.
Drinkability: Good drinkability. Goes down smooth.
Overall: Very good beer overall. I’d definitely recommend giving this one a shot. hopscotch (11439) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2011
Draft… CCB Fruit in the Room 2011… Murky, light golden ale with a small, short-lived white head. The aroma furnishes notes of pale grains, bready yeast and a sprinkling of lightly spicy hops, but I’m picking up no plantain component here. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. Perfectly-balanced American wheat ale flavor with no plantain aspect at all. Crisp, clean finish. Quality brew, but plantains obviously don’t yield much when used to treat a beer. I sort of saw this coming. I love fried plantains, but didn’t think their positive attributes would transfer well to beer. Go back to the drawing board and prove me wrong. ;-)

Tap at FITR. Pours a light gold and murky with little head. Grainy, wheat, banana aroma. Taste has more of the same notes, banana, slightly fiberous with a hint of fruit. Meh. markwise (5450) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 24, 2011
On draft at Cigar City for Fruit in the Room 2011. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is slight bread and citrus with bananas all over. Flavor is big banana with some plantains and bread and yeast. Interesting balance present here, with the banana showing off, but not stealing the show. burg326 (5630) - Florida, USA - AUG 21, 2011
On draft for Fruit in the Room. Was a hazy yellow color with aroma of wheat, yeast and bananas. Tasted like the aroma with spice however the banana flavor tasted heavy, it was like a raw plantain that you would get from the store. It was a nice twist on an old favorite for me.
