Draft at the source. Almost black, tan head, great lacing. Aroma actually conjures up the name, and I’m sober. Also has milk chocolate and perfume. Taste is lilacs and cocoa. Very nice. cgarvieuk (25322) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 16, 2014

Opaque black beer with a decent fluffy tan head. Mild lactose malt nose with a trace of coffee. Smooth palate with modest fine carbonation. Light. Mild dark malt with no bitterness but there is nice undertone of mild roast. Traces of lactose and coffee. Minerals and brief glimpse of red berry fruits. Finishes with mild hop bitterness and a mildly bitter aftertaste. Nice to see CCB could do the basics as well as the spectacular.
Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - thanks to Jaques. Pours red-brown with a tan cream head. The nose holds lots of toasted cereal and dusty cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with dry chocolate, light chocolate, some mild earthy bitterness, hints of dried fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. More toasted cereal and cocoa on the finish. Straightforward but very, very drinkable. Theydon_Bois (20165) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2015

Nitro. Dark brown color, creamy beige head. Light toasted aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Milky, toasted, licorice, sweetish flavor. Quite simple. Should try without nitro.
Growler thanks to drowland. Pours black with tan head. Nose of chocolate and roasted malts. Lots of coffee, vanilla and mocha on the palate with roasted malt finish. brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - APR 18, 2014
Can @ home. Thanks, Sean. Very dark brown pour with a tall tan head. Roasted malt, licorice, chocolate, and a hint of ash. Slight caramel and herbal hops. Flavor is pleasantly bitter with a nice sweet chocolate and molasses balance. Roasted malt, lots of licorice, and a touch of char/ash. Light herbal and earthy hops. Lightly smokey as it sits. Bottle @ Odense Summer Tasting, 2011. Handbottled. Pours black with a creamy off white head. Nose is ashes, roast , liquorice and honey. Smooth and full bodied. Tasty. Ferris (16093) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 7, 2014
Draft - Bitter chocolate, toffee and a little cedar. Jet black with a rich light brown head. Cedar and bitter chocolate. Not sure why I get cedar, but it seems to be in lots of their beers.
