Alcohol, raisin, coffee, chocolate, roasty. On tap at laser wolf. Dark brown, if you are a tocabaga fan you will love this! raradel (343) - Atlanti Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 2, 2013
Wow, this is the best doupplebock I’ve had. The body and the flavors are awesome. Dark and smooth, like a nitro- ed stout, but deep in profile. Great! hopscotch (11078) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Draft... This beer rocks!… Clear, dark crimson lager with a mid-sized, creamy, mushroom-colored head. Great retention. The plush aromatics consist of dates, black cherries, golden raisins, toasted malts, caramel and a hint of milk chocolate. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. The flavor leans toward the sweet side of balance, but doesn’t approach “cloying” at all - dates, dark raisins, black bread and medium-roast malts accompanied by a slight, mineral bitterness. Finishes mildly bitter with unsweetened cocoa, toasted tree nuts and buttery toffee. Vinous, world class lager! jcartamdg (3436) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Pours reddish brown with a light brown head. Aroma of malt and lager yeast. Taste is malty and slightly sweet. Nice doppel bock

Tap at Cigar City. Dark brown pour with a small creamy head. Caramel malt, fairly dense palate, maybe a hint of peat. Excellent.

Aroma of faint raisens. Rich dark color. The raisen flavor is even more pronounced in the flavor with some chocolate flavors. Good quality bock but not particularly special. Chipalsa (1310) - Florida, USA - JAN 7, 2013
I’m assuming this is the base of the Crapplebock. It smelled like raisins and over ripe raspberries with hints of toffee and coffee. The taste was great, sweeter than expected but still lots of ripe fruits and dry hops toward the finish. The abv& is just about perfect, I will be drinking this more next time I see it. burg326 (5482) - Florida, USA - MAR 16, 2013
On tap at CCB, poured a clear reddish brown color with aromas of toffee, rasins, light earth and some nuts. Flavors are the same, sweet toffee and some rasins, hid the abv very nicely as well. rbrazell (1698) - Florida, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Draft at Proof. Deep mahogany pour with a small bubbly tan head that fades to a ring. Aroma of toasted bready malts, light caramelization, notes of cocoaand a grassy Noble hop character. Thick mouthfeel, a bit syrupy with flavors of toasted bread, toffee, touches of dark fruit and earth. Not bad, pretty strong Doppelbock. Maybe a touch cloying. jbruner (4734) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 2, 2013
Pours a translucent brown on tap with lots of carbonation, a thin tan head, and light lacing. Aroma is a malt bomb, caramel, toasted grain, barley. Taste is much more balanced, but still very malty, sweet out of the gate, with a bitter finish. Pretty decent, but not sure cigar city should do stuff like this.
