Draft at the brewery. Thanks, Joey. Pours a cloudy golden color with a white head. Aroma is a funky and bready basket of fresh fruit. Grapes and pears with a slight pulpy bitterness. The flavor follows suit. The taste is fresh and funky and slightly bitter from the peels of the scuppernogs. The finish is sweet and fruity, like a fresh squeezed white grape juice. To know this has no brett in it only makes this beer more of an achievement. Great flavor, great funk and fruity freshness. Another great offering from Cigar City. Clever name! Clear golden orange with thick, delicious-looking head. The aroma is spectacular. Lively, juicy, and fruity with some orange juice, grape skins, custard apple, lychee, and other tropical fruits. Clean, dry finish with a juicy body. Fun, frothy mouthfeel and perfect level of carbonation. The juicy flavors aresweet and dry, like starfruit. Nice drinkable "fake Brett" saison, as Joey put it. Vineous character. Super nice. UPDATED: JUN 3, 2009 A: Pours a nice light golden hue with a nice tall foamy head. The retention is wonderful with nice chunky lace left all the way down the glass.
S: The aroma is somewhat grassy with hints of wet hay. Grapes and apples come next with hints of spice and yeast.
T: Nice sweet fruit up front with notes of grapes, apples, and pears. A bit of tannis shows up from the grape skins as well. Spice and yeast play nicely together in the middle. The finish has a bit of tart and sourness.
M: Very light with great carbonation. Bubbly goodness that finishes with a touch of dryness.
D: Very good, I would love to sip this one on a hot Florida summer afternoon.

Draft at the brewery, courtesy Joey and Wayne. Pours a lightly hazy golden straw color with a dense, foamy white head that lasts. Some nice, thick, ribbony lacing coats the glass well. Aromas are crisp, fruity, and semi-dry, notes of white grapes and natural, musty yeast leading the charge. Lightly peppery from the floral hops, the nose shows great balance. Flavors are a bit more wild than expected, in a good way. Tannic white grape notes meet a dry, funky yeasty component that permeates the entire brew. It almost tastes like it was done with brett, but knowing otherwise, I have to assume some naturally wild yeast must have been introduced by those scuppernongs. Perfectly spicy hops finish things off, working well with both the yeasty dryness and the lively carbonation. Medium bodied and semi-dry on the palate, this makes for a great summertime session saison. Another winner from Cigar City! SoLan (1550) - Florida, USA - MAR 21, 2009
Pale gold, white head. Yeast forward saison- spicy, floral, dusty- with crisp malt and grassy, lightly bitter hops. The swamp grapes give a subtle, tropical-like, floral, fruity element that works well. Medium body, well carbonated, with a dry finish. Solid saison, can’t wait for bottles of this.

Tap. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden with a one finger white head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma is like a Scuppernong wine with apple pie, spicy yeast, pilsner malt, and floral hops. Taste is the same as aroma with a hint of tannins from the grape skins and and a light slightly grainy finish. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and slightly spicy finish. Very good. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 6, 2009
draft at CCB. thanks joey for the tour and tastes.... pours a hazy golden brown with a fluffy/creamy slightly off-white head.... pears, grapes, and dried fruit compliment the nose with a small degree of musty yeastiness... sweet pear, tropical fruit are found in the flavor with a creamy yet light mouthfeel. very drinkable. this has aged for a few months so i am not sure how it compares to a fresh version but this was pretty tasty. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2009
Old rating- thanks retorp for the share. Pours hazy yellow with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet fruit- crisp grapes, pears, and apples. Flavor is apple, yeast, sweet grapes, and a flowery grapey sweetness that sticks around. Nice saison mix, and the brett is not missed. Another winner. dalekliz (922) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 24, 2009
