Bottled. 10cl sample. Old note. The aroma has red fruit, sourish tones, caramel. Bit hazy, brown coloured beer with a thin, off-white head. The taste is sourish, has caramel sweetness, balsamic vinegar. Medium bodied beer. Nice. chinchill (5396) - South Carolina, USA - APR 6, 2015
Shared large bottle.
Huge foamy head from a bottle that was itself foaming over.
Medium-high tartness with mild bitterness. Plenty fruity.
Boozy, funky, sour aroma.

[5643-20130816] Bottle. Sour yeast aroma. Hazy, dark brown body with a long-lasting foamy off-white head. Sour yeasty grains flavour has a light hot kick in the finish. Medium body. Interesting, seems super funked out. (6/3/7/3/13) 3.2

Murky brown in colour with a large and long lasting beige head, good lacing. The aroma is sweet with brown sugar, light alcohol and some funk. The flavour is quite malty, funky with some chocolate. Weird really. Sweet and funky mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, some brett. Not really sure about this one, quite strange.BelgianBeerGal (4258) - Panama City, Florida, USA - MAY 10, 2014
750ml bottle opened in March 2010.
Traded bottle of unknown vintage. Big gusher on opening. Clear, dark, brown color with a huge tan head that lasts forever and makes pouring a hassle. Mild, tart, sour aroma with a hint of acetone and maybe grape juice. Flavor is a little tart but then it ends with some harshness. Okay

750 ml bottle sampled during a tasting in March 2012. Pours a hazy amber brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have sour grapes, caramel, some bready malts, lemon citrus, acetic acidity, balsamic vinegar, some funk and Belgian yeast. Medium-bodied. This one was a bit strange yet interesting at the same time. Brigadier (3780) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - MAR 17, 2014
750 ml bottle
Other than being a massive gusher this was an excellent saison that was worth trading for. A sour farmhouse ale with attitude is just as good as many other Cigar City releases. I’d love to try another bottle fresh instead of waiting for it to age.
Aroma / Appearance - After the creamy foam settled the glass was full of a rich caramel liquid. Strong yeast, sour mash, cherry red vines, and traces of dark chocolate tickle the air. It almost smells like a Flemish red.
Flavor / Palate - An immediate tartness perks up the palate. Sharp and vinegary, it is memorable after just a few sips. Chocolate and yeast march into a pleasant finish. The sourness might be a little too strong. Overall though this is an excellent release that was good to try once.
