Bottle to snifter. Strong vanilla and booze unt eh nose. Light chocolate and moleasses. Some fudge. Decadent. Nearly black with a small khaki head. Tatse is rich and fudge with a a chocolate overtone. No licorice at all as I was afraid of that being a bomb and overpowering. Really solid. JStax (7225) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - AUG 16, 2017

Bottle at RBSG. Brown pour with a small beige head. Aroma is dark fruits, sweet rum barrel, and spice. Pretty sweet overall with more of the dark fruits and rum barrel flavors. Licorice plays a small part in the end.

From notes. Enjoyed at a tasting at Corbet’s house on June 26. 750 mL bottle. The pour is a darker brown/black with a thick tan colored head with a couple spots of lace as it falls to a thick ring. The aroma is surprisingly malty and sweet. There is a bit of licorice, but it’s being overshadowed by the rum and the oak. There is a hint of oak coming through, but it’s definitely mostly about the rum here. The flavor is much of the same. Lots of rum and a light licorice. The malts and a nice licorice and chocolate start to come through before transitioning to a heavier alcohol on the back end. Not feeling the heat. The mouth feel is medium to heavy with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly boozy chocolate licorice on the back end. Not bad, but it’s a little messy. 7 4 7 4 15 thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 22, 2017
(750ml bottle) clear deep brown, fine Deep tan bubbles. Nose of licorice, spirit barrel, dark chocolate, coconut, a touch alcoholic. Taste of dark rich chocolate, rum, oaky, a touch roasty but sweet enough to overcome it. Medium thick body.
