From old tasting notes. 750 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown color and topped by a thin layer of tan colored foam that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma shows notes of dark chocolate malts, dark fruits with plums and figs, roast, and a melody of winter spices with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. The flavor follows with the plums and figs up front followed by notes of chocolate malts, toasted bread, some earthy roast, and the mixture of winter spices with cinnamon showing the most. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that leads to a lengthy, fruity and spice finish. Nice take on the brown ale style. k0mpsa (3060) - Tuusula, FINLAND - JAN 2, 2016
Tap at cigar city, tampa. Copper color, white head. Malty nose, some fruitiness, some hops. Sweet malty body, plums, raisins, caramel. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 23, 2014
Pours a nice brown color with off-white head. Sweet dark fruits on the nose, with some subtle spices; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice little sweetness. MeerkatTampa (23) - New Port Richey, Florida, USA - DEC 23, 2014
On tap at the tasting room. Dark brown with minimal light tan head. Strong notes of chocolate in the nose. Surprisingly hoppy; I was expecting sweet. Generally tasty, but I’m not getting the Christmas spices. Dark chocolate and black fruit are front and center. The finish is long with a bitter caramel accentuated by the hops. Very drinkable, but I was hoping for more depth and complexity. MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2014
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown, murky beer with a very generous, beige creamy head on top. Aroma is very herbal, typical Christmas ale, loads of cinnamon, nutmeg, chestnuts and other spices. Flavor is very sweet and herbal again, returning most of cinnamon in front, backed up by a sweet malty base with ginger touches in there. Overal a typical Christmas beer, a winter warmer with full taste yet low abv. Quite decent stuff!

Big roasty aroma, semi sweet chocolate with some hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Dark brown, mostly clear, with light tan head. Roasty, light spice notes, some chocolate malt. Prufrockstar (2259) - Moscow, Idaho, USA - DEC 1, 2014
12 oz can thanks to Homer321. Pours nearly black with creamy tan head. Some lacing. Aroma brings baking spices atop bittersweet chocolate. Thinking I should probably have a slice of pie with this. Taste: lightly spiced sweet porter with lasting roast bitter finish. A touch astringent. Palate: medium body, average carbonation. Overall: listed now as a "winter porter" on the label. Nice take on a winter/fall spiced porter, but hard to see this as one I’d crave more of.
